He stood against a wall acting casual, however his purpose was anything but. He tried to act normal while looking at the quiet chaos going on in front him across some lockers.

He was looking at the girl he had become quite close pen pals with. She was struggling to keep her tears in. He felt his own heart clench a bit as he saw her struggling to talk with her friends. Forcing himself to look away, he clenched his teeth and tried to think of what he could do to help. She had helped him through so much and he hadn't even thought to realize that she may also have problems.

He kept burdening her with his own, acting like a weak little boy when she probably had a lot to deal with as well.

Bringing his eyes back to the scene, he saw her friends shake their heads at her and walk away. She banged her locker shut and didn't notice a piece of paper falling to the ground as she did so. He saw her take a deep breath in and shake her own head before making her way to the school exit.

He waited until she was gone and then made his way to the piece of paper on the ground. He picked up the letter and decided on throwing it in her locker again.

He had his bag with him and was ready to get to class but he knew what he really wanted to do.

She hadn't replied to his letter yesterday, so he thought he'd check up on her. After coming across this scene, he knew he had to do something more than just write another letter.

He followed her steps out the door, hoping to catch a glimpse of her. Seeing a familiar green parka, he silently followed behind her.

She slowed down after she left school property and threw her bag against a tree before pushing against it, again and again, tears flowing freely now. She let out a scream too.

Not knowing what to do, he just stared and fought with his thoughts to just come out to her or write about it. He knew that if he exposed himself now, he'd have no idea how to comfort her. Comfort was something he got from her. But now that the roles were reversed, he felt absolutely clueless as to what action he should pursue.
