"How could you?!" Claire yelled, whipping the letter she just received from Adrian around in the air.

Bewildered, Adrian searched his head for something he could have done wrong. "What do you mean? How could I what?"

Claire flicked his forehead before pointing violently at his name on the little paper he gave her. "Look! Just look at this atrocity. I can't even look at it anymore."

"M-my name?" He asked, a bit hesitant.

"You're supposed to write Anonymous!" She yelled out and realization hit Adrian so hard. That also may have been the face palm he gave himself. "You betrayed our streak of fashionably creative pseudonyms we had going on!"

"Anonymous? Someone? How do they fit into your category of fashionably creative?" Adrian asked, smiling at Claire's outburst.

"You know, if you read my note by now you would know that I have serious abandonment issues."

"Oh." Adrian said, pretending to get serious. "Should I be worried when you graduate a whole year before me?"

"Keep an eye out your bedroom window." Claire joked but Adrian didn't laugh. Her mind flashed to what happened with his sister and realized how inconsiderate she sounded. "Oh fudge, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it like that." Thinking over what she just said, she internally rolled her eyes. "I mean, that was stupid of me to say. I didn't think it through."

"Don't sweat it." He said with a smile. He found her discomfort oddly humouring.
On a normal day, he would be scarred for more than a day with that kind of a remark, but Claire was doing something to him that made him smile only moments later.

For a brief moment, he thought he was betraying his sister by not feeling so bad about what happened with a retort like that. But, another part of him was surprised, thinking that he was actually starting to move on.

And it was all thanks to this brown eyed, brown haired mystery in front of him.
Speaking of mystery, it would soon be unraveled with the letter she handed him.
