Looking over to her dad, she saw a malicious grin overtake his facial features before motioning her to get the door.
She didn't know what to do. She was able to stand up for herself even though she knew she'd get hurt. But with Adrian now in the picture, how was she supposed to act? What did her dad have in mind now that Adrian was here?
"Get the door!" Her dad yelled, stepping forward. She immediately broke out of her worried thoughts and stepped towards the door.
Opening it up just so she was visible, she looked at Adrian's worried face. Just as he opened his mouth to speak, she mouthed 'go' at him, letting her eyes be as stern as she could make them.
It all happened in a flash; a look of anger crossed Adrian's face and he was about to open the door to let himself in, but her dad beat him to it and now Adrian and her father were face to face.
