Chapter 26

Takemichi's POV

November 25, 2005

   'Geeze, that was more intense than I was expecting for today.'

   I let out a sigh as I walked out of Draken's place, the awkward feeling from when I previously entered started to dissipate.

   I couldn't help but smile though. I liked when Draken opened up with me, even if it ended up  being advice more than anything. It was nice we had some one-on-one time today; I was also grateful we got to see Kazutora. I wasn't really expecting him to be so remorseful.

   After today and everything I'd heard, it made me think. I think I understand what Draken means. It is important to do your best for the people you care about. Whether it be your friends, family, the person you hold dear.

   I let myself linger on that thought. I had seen so many people do things for the ones they care about. I see it all the time, but there is always one person who comes to mind when I think of someone who cares about others.

   'He even went out of his way to get something for someone who he doesn't get along with...'

   Damn, anyone could learn a thing or two from that guy.

   That thought reminded me of our little trip to look for a gift for Emma. (Y/n) mentioned that Emma was important to Mikey and Draken. I stifled a chuckle to myself. I'm pretty sure Draken definitely liked her; Emma just needs to keep pushing and one day he'll cave.

   I lifted my arms and put them behind my neck, stretching and enjoying the good mood I had brought upon myself. My eyes trailed back in front of me when I noticed a familiar blonde girl.

   "Wow, didn't expect to see her!" I perked up even more as I went after Emma to say hi. After all, it'd be rude to ignore her.

   She walked past my line of site as I ran after her. Right when I was going to call out to her again, I saw something I wasn't expecting. There in front of me was Emma, holding Mikey in a tight hug.

   'Huh???'

   I couldn't lie when I say the scene surprised me, but the next words out of her mouth really threw me for a loop.

   "Thank you, Mikey! I love you!"

   Mikey didn't hug back, in fact he looked rather solum but still he patted her head. Even so, as they parted, they both held loving smiles on their faces. I really didn't know how to interpret this at all. 

   'I thought Emma liked Draken, but here she is getting all cozied up to Mikey of all people!?'

   Childish thoughts of how a fight between Draken and Mikey would bring across the end of the world flooded my mind. I really couldn't let Draken find out about this or everything will be over!

   "What an interesting turn of events."

   I jumped at the shock of the voice beside me. I look over to see Hina crouched down beside me.

   "Wait, Hina?" I questioned.

   I looked up above her to see Naoto walking over.

   "Sorry! We were shopping and then Hina saw you..." He was so gentle and apologetic.

   "Ah...it's not really a problem." I insisted and turned to look back over at the pair from earlier.

   They had started to walk away, Emma linking and grabbing onto Mikey's arm as he tried to push her off. Yet he didn't put up a fight when Emma refused to move and just got closer. A purely happy smile present on her face.
