Takemichi's POV
November 18th-19th 2017
I worked through my hesitation and accepted Kisaki on his offer. I didn't have any doubt that Chifuyu was also hesitant, it was more so his energy than anything else. Through the 12 years I haven't seen him he had gotten even better at concealing his emotions. While it was impressive, I knew better than to think he was just emotionless now.Kisaki had led us into a new building, it held an air of high class to it. Honestly it was hard to grasp that I was of such power that I'd be wanted or accepted into a place such as this.
"It's stunning, isn't it? I just had this place built recently. I find it fitting that you guys are some of the first to enjoy it." Kisaki said, motioning for us to enter another room.
When we entered, we were met with a large dining hall of a sort. We were the only ones occupying the space though. Kisaki was the first one to take a seat, a singular table in the center of the room. Liquor and several cups already placed down.
"Please, have a seat. Make yourself comfortable." Kisaki insisted.
I took a seat, trying to feel any sort of comfortable in the situation I was currently in. I looked behind to see if Chifuyu would take a seat. Instead, he stood behind me with his hands behind his back.
"You are more than welcome to take a seat as well Chifuyu." Kisaki motioned over to the only other empty seat at the table.
"I think it'd be best if I stay standing." Chifuyu insisted. It was clear he was not going to cave to Kisaki's friendly nature.
"To each their own I suppose. Always seems like you got something in your ass though. I wish you'd loosen up after so many years." Kisaki held this fake smile. I had a hard time believing he could smile genuinely out of good nature.
Being in this situation now was really scary. Kisaki is at the top of the Tokyo Manji Gang, not only that but is the acting commander. He's been able to slip by the police for so long with success every time. He's always been smart, so it is not a surprise, but it just eludes to how dangerous he really is.
"How many years has it been now Takemichi?" Kisaki started, holding a freshly poured cup of liquor in his hand as he leaned back in his chair.
"It's really unbelievable that everyone from 12 years ago is still together today. Who would've guessed that you and I would be here so many years later having a chat?" Kisaki seemed to notice my surprise.
"Is it a little weird for me to say that?" He chuckled.
"Well, not exactly..." I looked away, not really wanting to keep eye contact with this man.
Kisaki now leaned over, he looked serious as he pondered his own thoughts.
"Actually,...Takemichi, Chifuyu. I need you guys to be honest with me. What do you think of me?"
"Excuse me?" I was surprised by his question. Kisaki turned only his eyes to look at me.
"I guess I don't really need to ask. It's clear that you hate me, am I wrong?" I pursed my lips, should I really agree without hesitation? To think he'd be so direct with a question like that.
He took my silence, well, our silence as confirmation and continued to talk.
"You know, about 12 years ago, sometime around now, was when Baji died. I'll admit that it was my fault, all of it."
