Chapter 66: Kooky's letter, mike's heartache and max's wisdom.

-Ludwig pov-

I don't know what happened after kooky took over. I just know that after he let me take over, max and mike had already been taken to the medical room. And looking at max...he's physically got it worse than mike, though it is mike who's got it worse emotionally. Not only that, i now have whatever it is that kooky wrote and i have no idea what i'm about to read. "What have you wrote on here kooky..?" I muttered, hesitant to even so much as look at kooky's handwriting. "I think now would be a good time to read it." Kamek reminded me while i glanced over at mike. Sure, he looked rather stoic, but i can tell...he's doing his best to not become emotional. I've never fancied being one to be comforting, though..i suppose after my..emotional moment...i SUPPOSE i owe him at least that.

-Max pov-

I wasn't aware that kooky had written something on a piece of paper...it must be important if he's got something to say.

-Marx pov-

Ah, finally. It's so unlike me to be impatient. Is bowser rubbing off on me knowing that he gets impatient? Hehe..oh my, i wouldn't want to fully embrace his mannerisms!

-Bowser pov-

This is a first even for me. I've never known kooky to act this way. None of us has. Usually, it's never a good thing when he comes out...but now? It's as if we're seeing the real kooky.

-Tyson pov-

Perhaps kooky knows more about zöhm? I would think it to be rather obvious considering that clearly have a dark history.

-Narration-

Ludwig slowly unfolds the paper and after a moment of hesitation, he starts to read it:

"To all who read this:

It is better to explain this through writing rather than give a lengthy verbal explanation. Zöhm was once a psychologist who is fascinated with the mind and with dna. Though he was known as genius, he also had a..obsession with the star spirits themselves and became fascinated with their power upon hearing the many stories about them. He became obsessed with wanting power. Wanting to dominate to minds of others into doing what he wanted in order to get revenge on the von ghoul family even though i was not made aware of him until one thousand years after the fact. I still don't know why he wants revenge, though i strongly believe it has something to do with the starlight crystal max has with him.

Zöhm has become a master manipulator, but he did not achieve this on his own. It has been said that he made a deal with an eldritch being and not only do i not know how he managed to encounter one and make  a deal with it, but i also don't even know the name of this being and that's probably a good thing. Zöhm sacrificed his physical body and clearly his mind in order to become what he is now. Quite frankly, i don't even want to know how he made this deal happen, or who or what he encountered. There are some places that even von ghouls do not venture to and for damn good reason.

The von ghoul civil war happened so fast...i don't know what caused it, but i do know that it has something with xaczxar. Now, i KNOW that he wouldn't willingly cause the von ghoul family any harm. He did everything he could think of to be part of us and while we were wary of him at first, even i warmed up to him to the point that i began to trust him. I suspect that it has to do with pico, but i cannot be sure since it has been a long time and me remembering every detail of what happened just isn't possible for me right now.

Max, this is where you come in. You must find out what you can. Uncover what ultimately caused the von ghoul civil war and find out more about xaczxar. I also wonder why the magishadow killed mike's parents...is it possible that they knew something about zöhm? That is a mystery to me, but i now know that he's adamant in keeping the past buried.
