You know that trope in movies and such where a character gets a love interest and then pretty much abandons their friends, putting their love interest above all else?
Red hates that trope with all of his being- he despises it. Because that kind of thing has happened to him multiple times before in the past with Solomon when they were friends: Red would plan something for him and Sol to do together, only for Sol to cancel it last minute because he got a date.
And then Red is either seething in frustration and rage, or he starts to slowly cry about it. Then Red goes to hang out with and talk to Acacius since he's always free to hang out. It helps even more that Acacius will let him stay the night most of the time.
All Red really wanted was simple; to hang out with his friend for a day, nothing more
