Ever since the case with the Qareen, I'd been waiting for Dean to get angry at me or give me the silent treatment, but if anything, he acted more loving and gentle around me. A few days after it happened, he loaded me and the kids in the Impala and took us all out for ice cream and a drive in movie. A week after that, he took me out to dinner while Sam stayed behind and watched Maddie and Zep. I kept walking on eggshells around my husband, in anxious anticipation of what I thought was coming, but it never did, and so eventually I began to relax a little.

Two weeks after the case, Sam found the Vichy Memorandems, Nazi communications that talked about a super weapon obtained by the Ahnenerbe strong enough to win the war. The memos referred to the weapon as a 'Hand of God', a catch all term to describe items believed to contain traces of his power. The reason it was never used to win, was because it was stolen en route to Berlin by a woman named Delphine Seydoux. She was a French mistress to a high ranking Nazi, and it was discovered she was a Woman of Letters.

After some more searching, we found out that she was supposed to bring it back to the Bunker, but before it could arrive, the submarine sank and was lost. Sam thought that it was hopeless, but Dean disagreed, saying we had something up our sleeve the people who weren't able to recover the wreckage didn't have- Cass. Which is how we ended up with Lucifer back in the Bunker doing an impersonation of Cass.

"There were several God-touched objects, but it never occurred to me that any of them survived the flood, let alone the twentieth century," Lucifer said.

"Do you think we can use it against Amos?" Sam asked him.

"It's perfect. And I can get you back there."

I swallowed hard, glancing over from the other side of the room. I was sitting with Zep on the floor playing with his cars with him so I didn't have to interact with Lucifer unnecessarily. Maddie had shut herself away in her room when she heard Dean was calling the archangel. She was scared to be around him ever since she found out why his wings had changed.

"Without wings?" Sam raised his eyebrows. "Cass, you can't even teleport."

"Time travel, is a, it's a whole different system," Lucifer lied.

"Told ya!" Dean snapped, looking across the table at his brother.

"So, uh, these the last coordinates?" Lucifer studied the board where we'd put all the research we'd found on the missing sub.

"That's the Bluefin's last transmission to shore, yeah," Dean nodded.

"Alright."

"Wait a second," Sam continued to protest. "Cass, aren't there risks with time travel? I mean, aren't there consequences?"

"Sam, this is the ideal scenario."

"What?"

"That sub is a tin can floating in the middle of the ocean doomed to go down, you can't really mess with history at 20,000 leagues. So we get in, get the weapon, get out. It's a milk run."

"Well, that's not a very good plan."

"Well, if things get outta hand, then Cass will just, zap me right back," Dean shrugged.

"You?" I piped up finally.

"Neither of you are going," he informed both me and Sam.

"I beg your pardon?" Sam said.

"You two need to stay here."

"Stay here?"

"Just in case things go sideways, somebody needs to be left standing to take care of the Darkness. We can't risk us all!"

"So you expect us to sit here and ride the pine while you and Cass go play Jules Vern?" Sam demanded.

"Yes! No. I- who?" Dean asked, confused.

"You know, if you're going by that logic, it would make the most sense to send me back," I pointed out.

"Wait, what?"

"I'm the least valuable player at the moment. You all know I can't kill Amos, so the least I could do is get the thing that we need so that you can."

"Ellie, no," Dean shook his head. "It's gotta be me. Maddie and Zep need you."

"What, and they don't need you?"

"I won't let him out of my sight," Lucifer spoke up, still making his voice sound rough like Cass.

"You'll stay by his side the entire time?" Sam asked him.

"I will," the archangel nodded.

"Guys, let me do this," Dean begged. "Okay, I need to do this."

Sam nodded slowly and then all three of them were looking over at me.

"Be safe," I sighed resignedly.

"When am I not?" Dean hit the table, standing up. "Let's do this, Cass."

I glared at the archangel and he smirked at me, making it disappear as soon as Sam looked over as well.

"Bon voyage," Dean said.

Lucifer placed his hand on Dean's shoulder and they both disappeared.

"Mommy, keep playing," Zep told me, and I turned my attention back on him.

"I am, bud," I smiled at him. "Which car do I get?"

He handed me one of the toys as the door of the Bunker opened and a drenched Lucifer walked through it and down the stairs to rejoin us.

"Cass?" Sam asked, looking up at him. "Why're you- wait a second, where's Dean?"

"We made the leap, he got on, I didn't."

"What?" I demanded, once again distracted from the toys and Zep.

"I couldn't make it past the hull," Lucifer explained, looking over at me. "Someone must have warded the ship!"

"Delphine?" Sam suggested. "It has to be, I mean, she's protecting the weapon, right? Cass, just go back to their last port before she boarded! Leave a message so Dean knows!"

"Where?" Lucifer glared at him. "Where would Dean see it that the crew wouldn't? He's as likely to find the warding as any message I'd leave."

"Then send me. You got past the hull."

"Right. We'll double down on what screwed us the first time," Lucifer rolled his eyes at Sam. "You're really bringing your A ideas today. I can't believe I lost it."

My eyes narrowed as the archangel sighed, taking a seat at the table.

"Him," he corrected himself. "Can't believe I lost Dean. Well, it's up to him now to find and clear the angel warding."

"No, we can help," Sam insisted. "There's gotta be something in magic or angel lore. Some way to clear the sigils from the outside. Cass, don't worry. We'll bring him back."
