Loud, muffled rock music played from behind a closed door Sam, Dean, and I were standing outside of and Sam banged on it in frustration.

"Lucifer! Y'know, sometime you're gonna have to come out and... talk to... God."

There was no answer and Sam threw up his hands.

"It's like the worst episode of Full House ever," Dean muttered.

The music stopped then, and Lucifer yelled back through the door.

"If Dad has something to say to me, I'll hear it from him! Until then, I'll be in my room."

"It-" Sam began as the music started back up again louder.

"It's not your room," I rolled my eyes.

"It's my room," Sam chimed in.

Sam banged on the door a few more times, but there wasn't an answer.

"Whatever," Dean said, walking away.

Sam and I followed him into the kitchen where Maddie and Zep sat at the table while Cuck was making pancakes at the griddle.

"Talk to him," Sam begged as we joined the kids at the table.

"Won't do any good," Chuck replied.

"Why not?"

"Because I can't give him what he wants."

"And what's that?" I asked.

"What everyone wants. My brother, my children, you humans- an apology. A big, wet, 'I'm sorry'."

"Well, so give it to him," Dean argued. "It's not like he's askin' for a weapon, or for Hell, or for Heaven. He's askin' for words."

"I can't say I'm sorry if I'm not," Chuck countered, placing plates of pancakes in front of each of us. "What he wants an apology for, I did it for humanity. For the world. Look, Lucifer wants what everybody wants. Amos gone. 'kay? Let's just give him some time to cool off."

"Okay, well, I don't know if you've noticed, but a little time is not something we have. The end is frickin' nigh."

"That's Dad's mug," Zep said, looking at the 'WORLD'S GREATEST DAD' mug Chuck was drinking from.

Sam and Dean got Lucifer and Chuck to talk to each other. Once they'd finished, Chuck explained that we couldn't kill Amos, but we could lock him back up. His reasoning was that there was a balance to the universe, Dark and Light. Amos had to exist, because if we were to get rid of him, it wouldn't end well. The thing was, they needed more than just him and Lucifer to do it. So, we ended up recruiting Crowley and Rowena to make up for the missing archangel power since Michael was in no shape to fight and Chuck couldn't bring back Gabriel or Raphael.

"We assemble our band of brothers, hit Amos with everything we've got," Sam said. "Then, when he's weak-"

"I finish him off," Chuck finished.

"So, a page from the original playbook. This time with witches and demons subbing for archangels."

"Exactly," Lucifer nodded.

"I still don't like it," I piped up and everyone looked at me. "But- why trap him when you can kill him, you know? I-I mean, you got to admit, there's a lot less room for error if you shoot to kill."

"I explained why," Chuck pointed out.

"Right, but why keep him in play? So, he can escape and we can go through this all over again?"
