"I just mean she comes over here and acts all at home like she's wanted. News flash blondie, no one wants you here" she rises off her chair, putting her weight onto the table but doesn't move further than that. I know what she wants, she wants a scene so she can finally somehow prove herself. It's sad.

"I'll leave the second the sun starts to set, relax. Being here is the last thing I want, trust me on that"

"I don't. Not when all you do is fuck up things around you-"

"Take a seat Himiko" Max orders as he begins making the doe for the pizza. I contain the smile that's threatening its way to the surface.

"Mind your fucking business cunt-"

"Don't talk to him like that" I interrupt getting pissed off now. Talking to me like that is one thing but coming for Max is a whole different story.

"Oh I'm sorry Mia I didn't know you two are together like that, you hop around quite fast"

Bane has officially stopped all he was doing and I don't know what to expect from him but what I do know is this bitch is about to get her tongue removed.

"What is that supposed to mean?" I move forward slightly, standing right on the other side of the table now. Bane stands up walking around the island and I catch myself following his every move. Even if Max said he wouldn't hurt me, there's always a what if at the back of my mind and it's kept me alive for this long so I'm not about to start doubting it now. He stops at the sink setting his cup down inside and it's then when Himiko steals me out of concentration.

"You know what I mean"

I look back at her just in time to see her roll her eyes "please do explain and while you're doing so, we'll all just pretend we don't know what this is really about"

This time she comes forward, I don't move an inch as she stops right in front of my face. Deep down I pray she swings, please swing.

"Wanna clarify that?" she's as tall as I am, maybe an inch shorter but I'm satisfied when her eyes have to rise a little too high for normal to actually look at me.

"We had this conversation at a ball Himiko, don't tell me you don't remember now" I smile as I push every single button in her. Just like that I have clicked a very specific one it seems because she raises her hand, swinging it straight to my face. Except, it never hits me. The hand around her is so familiar I know immediately who it belongs to. His chest brushes against my back and I shudder inside from the feeling that comes with it. His grip tightens to the point where Himiko's wrist has turned bright red and the look on her face is both priceless and heart breaking. She's clearly hurt by this, by his choice on who to protect and the fact it's not her.

"Bane..." her voice falter at his name and then just like that she looks back at me with murder pouring through her gaze. The thing is, I've seen that look so many times on so many people's faces that it doesn't bother me anymore. And plus, every person to every look at me like that is long dead. "You're going to wish that bomb took you out after I'm finished with you, fuck you Mia" she tears her hand away from Bane's grip walking- running off and we all hear the front door slam shut. Always with the dramatic I'll give her that.

I think it was about 5 seconds ago that Himiko ran out and I have yet to move, rooted firmly to the floor it seems for eternity. 10 seconds, and Bane hasn't moved, hasn't breathed, hasn't said a word. 20 seconds and this feels like I'm drowning in a fire so hot that I'm barely even ash anymore.

Max clears his throat saving me once more today "so, Mia? wanna help me cook the pizza then-"

"No. She doesn't" the one and only finally speaks and rage boils inside of me. Just as I was turning around his hand has already gripped my arm pulling me out of the kitchen and into a nearby room, he slams the door shut with so much force I can see the paint shatter in a lightning form. I think this is his office. It has to be because there's so much dark wood, dark everything actually, even the sunlight doesn't want to step in for a moment.
