"Mia"

I glance up at Max "Thank you" I take the plate making sure not to move to much as Nicholas lays on my stomach, I brush my fingers through his hair one last time before focusing on my meal.

"So let's talk about the elephant in the room" Lev begins, throwing her legs over Max's, he pulls them in closer nodding in agreement.

"Clearly we're closer than we thought, I talked to Will today and we went over the camera footage like a dozen times all over again, same thing each time, he just disappears mid way between the 8th and 10th camera" Max says and Lev nods along thinking to herself. We've been trying to figure out how he just disappeared but haven't found a single clue. The footage hasn't been tampered with, there was no glitch, no other road he could've turned over to, nothing.

"Is it too much to wish he just disintegrated?"

"Sadly" I smile at her "yes" she nods disappointed. "So we still have nothing?"

"Not necessarily" Nicholas says making all of us look over at him, he lifts his head only to get more comfortable on my lower stomach "Max do you remember how they moved Celine's body out the house so no one could see?"

"No" he replies frowning as he tries to remember.

"I do, I only learnt about it because of her death. There's these secret passage ways, like actually streets and buildings just below everything we walk on"

Levs eyes widen as she turns to me, I'm just as lost as she is.

"I've spent years with you and only NOW do you tell me we have secret passage ways, seriously?"

"Well they aren't supposed to be used, everyone that knows about it stays far away from them"

"Why" I ask.

"If you want to use the passage way you need to pay a price, one that sometimes costs you everything you have. If you try to get out of your price every person that knows about it will come after you, we make sure you disappear"

"We?" Lev asks.

"We as in me and a dozen others, in order to keep this a secret everyone needs to be at an agreement, so we all held by it"

Well then.

"So you think he used the passage way?"

"That's they only way he could've disappeared like that"

I frown "so how do we find him in this underground city of yours"

"Maps, but they haven't been updated in years, the less proof the better"

"So we'd be going in blind" Max sighs.

"Pretty much"

It wouldn't be the first time we went in blind, I don't think it'll be the last either.

"Well, I'm in" Max says carelessly, he's so used to it all that I genuinely don't think he gives a single fuck.

"I'm not backing out now, plus, he brought Scar and Aiden into this"

Nicholas stays quiet mainly because you'd be an idiot to wonder let alone ask if he's in. Having the connection he does he was able to put Ray and the kiddos on a whole different continent as us, they're on a secluded island that's not even on the maps. To say they're safe is an understatement.

"Alright then" I sigh falling deeper into the couch.

Lev and Max both nod getting comfortable alongside one another. Them getting together was the best thing to happen to the both of them, and seeing Max actually happy and in love makes me feel like such a big sister, it's odd just how much I see him as a brother.
