Cordelia

I'm finally home.

Landon parked the car in the garage, which was already open, and got out of the car. No one's here yet.

Landon walked around the car and helped me out. Unfortunately, Dad and Leo probably have the wheelchair. But at least I have crutches.

"Can you stand?" Landon asked me uncertainly.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. I've got my strength now." I told him.

We were just standing in akward silence with Landon when he suddenly smiled.

"I'd love to take you to a race. I'm having one next Friday, so if you want to go and Alexander will let you go, I'll take you with me." He smiled and put his hand on my cheek.

"Thank you!" I exclaimed and hugged him.

Landon hugged me back without hesitation.

"You don't have to thank me." He said and hugged me even tighter.

After a moment, we stood apart. I honestly feel like some part of my body left with him. Yet we are still standing next to each other.

"I don't have my keys, so I don't think we can go home. We can try knocking, maybe Samantha will be home." Landon said.

"Okay, let's go." It's honestly getting pretty cold.

I was ready to go, but Landon grabbed me and took me in his arms bridal style. I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty scared.

"W-what are you doing?" I asked him scared.

"You have no strength in your arms, I'm not letting you walk."

"But I'm fine. I'm pretty heavy-"

"You're not heavy, you're awfully light, and believe me, I'll make sure you eat. You don't know how happy we'll all be if you gain weight." He told me. I don't understand them.

Once we were at the door, I rang the bell since Landon was carrying me.

Even after a few minutes, no one answered the door. I'm getting really cold.

"What do you mean you'll be happy if I gain weight? Why should I get fat? I'm already fat enough-"

"Cori, don't ever say you're fat again. Please say it." Landon tried to make me.

"Put me down." I told him. I need some time alone. I'm not comfortable talking about my problems and my thoughts.

"I'm not gonna put you down, we'll wait for the others." Landon said. I don't understand why he won't let me go. I may have left my crutches in the garage, but I can stand on my own."I can stand here alone. Put me down." I told him. I really need to be alone for a while.

"Cori, no. I'm not gonna put you down. They'll be here soon."

"Landon, let me go." I said through gritted teeth.

"Fine, but you're going to stand here with me." Landon finally put me down and I leaned against the wall.

"Thank you." I don't even know what I was thanking him for.

"They're here." Landon said. He turned his back to me. I think he's offended.

"Landon?" I tried to get his attention, which I did. He turned to look at me and even moved a little closer to me.

"Yes Cori?"

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to-"

"You didn't mean to what?" Liam asked, standing in front of us with our entire family.
