I was very nervous about her being quiet the whole time.
I'm scared. I'm afraid she'll want to leave us. I can't lose her. Especially not her.
"Cori... we have to tell you something. We're in a mafia. But trust me, we would never do anything to you." Xander began.
Cori just looked at him, no emotion emanating from her. She's scaring me with this.
"Trust me to protect you, nothing will happen to you." Xander said.
"Y-y-you're a-killer?" Cori asked him. With that sentence, a new wave of tears came down her face. I can't look at her like that.
I took her under my knees and placed her on my lap. I also hugged her tightly so she knew we were all here with her.
But Cori started to think we were going to do something to her because she started crying even harder and trying to get out of my hug.
"Shhh, Cori. We're not going to do anything to you. You don't have to be afraid of us." I kept repeating those words to her over and over.
"B-b-but you're, b-but you're both killers!" She started screaming at us.
The boys came over too, but Cori didn't see them since her back was turned to them.
"Cori, but they are very bad people. They are murderers, rapists, or some kind of thieves. We don't kill innocent people." Xander tried to explain to her.
But Cori wouldn't listen. She kept trying to get as far away from us as possible. I kept trying to hold her in my arms, because I feel that if I let her go, she might not come back.
"LEAVE ME ALONE! YOU'RE MURDERERS! LEAVE ME ALONE!"
The way she screamed about how we were murderers and to leave her alone brought tears to my eyes. Seth and Kai were already crying. But you could see in the others that they wanted to cry too.
I was surprised, but even Xander was in tears.
After a while, though, she ran out of strength because she stopped hitting me and stopped screaming. Instead, she started crying even more.
I tried to calm her down by scratching her back.
But Cori kept crying more and more and then she started choking. I've never been so worried about anyone in my life as I am now about Cori.
"Cori!" Xander yelled. I motioned for the boys to get something to calm her down. I hope they understood.
Xander, Vinnie, Xavier and I tried to at least try to calm Cori down. I stopped hugging her so she wouldn't think I was attacking her.
"Cori, everything's gonna be okay." We'd all tried to calm her down, but it seemed like she was getting more and more choking by the minute.
Gray finally came running in with a tranquilizer. It's probably the only chance we have to calm her down.
Gray handed me a tissue with the tranquilizer spilled on it and I gently put it over Cori's mouth and nose. Cori was still trying to defend herself.
"Cori, don't worry. Nothing's going to happen to you." I tried to at least try to reassure her somehow, but poor Cori wasn't paying any attention to us.
After a while, Cori fell asleep. Fortunately, the tranquilizer worked quickly.
We all got some relief. I got up with Cori and carefully laid her on the bed and covered her up. Shadow laid down next to her as well.
"What are we going to do? It'll be the same when she gets up." I asked.
But no one answered me.
"Landon, we'll stay here with her." Xander commanded and left to get his things.
I wouldn't dream of leaving her here alone. I hope he brings me things to do too.
Xander came in a little while later and got my stuff too. We both settled down on Cori's desk.
Everyone else had already left, either for school or work. But I only have one thought in my head.
I can't lose Cori.
----- 4 hours later -----
Cori still hasn't woken up. I don't even know what kind of sleeping pill we put her on. But she should wake up by tonight anyway.
"Landon, I know you have feelings for Cori. You've been acting completely different since she got here. But I'm glad you've changed. As long as you keep treating her like this and keep Cori happy, I won't separate you." Xander said out of the blue.
"I don't know how I feel about Cori. But she's important to me. I haven't slept with anyone since Cori came along." I confided in him.
Cori was starting to stir a little, which meant she should be waking up soon. Shadow is still in bed with her.
"I can see that Cori trusts you a lot, that's why I want you to be here too. I hope she doesn't start panicking again."
"I hope so too." I told him quite honestly. I'm afraid he's going to be scared of us again.
----- 10 minutes later -----
Cori's already starting to turn over, which is a good sign that she's waking up. But for the last few minutes, I can't stop looking at her.
I got up and walked over to Cori's bed and slowly lay down beside her. I'm afraid of how Cori will react.
I started to gently play with Cori's hair because she likes it.
She will be awake in a little while as she slowly rolls towards me. I hope she doesn't cry then.
I'm getting more nervous by the minute.
Cori's almost on my chest. I hope I can at least calm her down somehow.
I thought Cori was slowly opening her eyes. She's starting to mumble. It's so cute.
Cori opened her eyes and looked at me. They looked at me for a while, but what I saw in their eyes was fear.
"No! Leave me alone!" Cori screamed and started to move away from me.
"Cori, don't be afraid. We won't hurt you." Xander came over and tried to calm her down.
Cori was already sitting at the end of the bed, still moving away from us.
"Why did you do that! Why?!?" She started yelling at us. She's starting to panic again.
"Cori, everything's gonna be okay. We'll explain everything. Can I give you a hug?" I tried to get as close to her as I could.
She just looked at me for a moment but didn't say anything or nod her head.
After a while she nodded her head and slowly moved towards me. I gently hugged her.
"I-I" She tried to say something but started crying hysterically. I feel so sorry for her. I don't want her to suffer.
