I can't lose my Cori. It breaks my heart to see her cry. I have to calm her down somehow.
"Shhh, shh. Everything's gonna be okay. We're here with you." I kept saying those words over and over again. I also scratched her back, hoping to calm her down.
"I-Im s-scared." Cori said. Xander finally got up from his chair and came over to us.
"Shhh, I know. You don't have to worry, we'd never do anything to you. We're trying to protect you." I tried to reassure her. Thankfully she doesn't cry so much anymore, but it still breaks my heart. Xander sat down on the bed.
Cori cried some more, but thankfully she was slowly starting to calm down. I'm glad she's still with me, that she's not trying to get as far away from us as possible.
I love it when she's in my arms.
"I d-don't know w-what to d-do." Cori said. Thankfully, she's starting to calm down a bit. I played with her hair too, since she really likes it.
"We would never do anything to you. When you're ready, we'll tell you everything, but everything."
"Then tell me now, I want to know."
I looked at Xander. I don't know if I should start talking or if he will.
"Cori, I'm the Leader of the Russian Mafia. But trust me, we would never hurt you. It's true that we kill people, but we kill very bad people, like abusers, rapists and people like that. I'm sorry you had to see what you saw." Xander said. I'm glad he started talking.
"And how long were you going to keep this from me?" Cori asked. Her body began to shake again.
But we were both speechless, we didn't know what to say.
"HOW LONG WERE YOU GONNA KEEP THIS FROM ME?!" Cori asked, or rather yelled at us again.
Cori started pushing me away, wanting to get as far away from me as possible.
"Cori, shhh. We'll explain everything to you, you just need to calm down." I told her, and because she was pushing away from me, I moved her a little closer to me. I want her as close to me as possible.
"But so far you've told me the same thing as before, nothing new." Cori told us, she stopped pushing away from me and started crying again.
"Shhh." I tried to calm her down but she kept crying. Maybe she just needs to cry. But after a while of her crying I personally couldn't take it anymore, it breaks my heart to see her cry.
I put my hand on her cheek and gently wiped away her tears.
"Cori, you don't know how much we've all grown fond of you in such a short time. It would destroy us to have you leave us again." I told her honestly...
She just looked at me innocently.
"Shadow's here with you." I reminded her. Shadow was lying at her feet.
"Please leave me alone." Cori said. I don't want to leave her alone, but then again, she probably needs to absorb the information.
"Okay, we'll leave you alone, but promise me you won't do anything to yourself." Xander began to plead with her. I honestly wouldn't have thought that she could do anything here.
"Don't worry, I won't do anything to myself here. I promise." Cori promised. I don't want to leave her.
"Come on, Landon." Xander called to me, already packing up his things from the table.
"Can you make it here?" I asked her.
She shook her head in response, saying yes.
I slowly started to get up. I really don't want to leave her here alone. But it's probably better if she's alone for a while.
"I'll come get you later, okay?" I tried to get her to speak, but luck wasn't on my side.
Cordelia POV
Landon and dad finally left. I'm just here with Shadow now.
I can't believe I've been living with murderers all this time. But everyone's been so nice to me.
I don't know what to do. I don't want to leave, I love it here, but I feel so weird.
I guess I just need time. I should take some time with myself.
I took a quick shower and then I put wet tampons on my eyes because they're so swollen and sore.
I went back to bed, and Shadow practically lay on top of me, but I don't mind.
I lay down and probably fell asleep, because I don't remember anything.
Landons POV
It's afternoon now, and Cori has to go get cleaned up. And I want to see her now, too.
I happily walked into her room and saw her lying on the bed, asleep, with Shadow almost on her face again. I had to shoo him away, then he lay down at her feet. No wonder she fell asleep, she must have been pretty emotionally tired.
I lay down next to her and put her close to my body. I started playing with her hair again so she would slowly wake up.
After a while, she started to wake up. I didn't want to startle her, so I started talking, or rather whispering.
"Cori, are you feeling any better?" I asked her, even though she probably wouldn't answer me.
"Everything hurts." She replied. At least she's not pushing me away yet.
"I can lie here with you like this, do you mind?" I asked her. I hope she doesn't mind. I haven't stopped playing with her hair.
"I don't mind. Just please don't stop playing with my hair. It calms me down." Said Cori. I won't stop. She was laying on one of my hands with which I gently scratched her back and with my other free hand I played with her hair.
We lay like that for another half hour or so, but she had to at least get something into her. She must be incredibly hungry.
"Cori, you need to get some food. I promise, but then you can come back and I'll play with your hair again. What do you say?" I suggested. I hope she'll accept.
She just shook her head and slowly started to get up. I helped her to her feet and took her hand and linked our fingers together. We walked slowly to the kitchen.
Everyone was home, we all preferred to stay here for Cori's sake.
When we got to the kitchen, I sat Cori on a chair and went to the fridge to get some food. Cori laid her head on the table for the time being.
"What would you like to eat Cori?" I asked her.
"Preferably a bottle of vodka and a box of ibuprofen." What? I looked at her. Cori lifted her head and looked at me, too. "I was just kidding, although the ibuprofen would be nice."
I went to get her the ibuprofen, went to my room and got her 2 pills and went back downstairs.
But when I got to the kitchen, I saw Cori already making pancake mix.
