|37| Snowman

After we finished eating Landon went to pay and then we went to the car. But I'm not tired yet and I want to enjoy the first snow. It's dark, but that doesn't bother me at all.

"Landon, can we go outside? It's dark, but I want to enjoy the snow." I asked him. Please, please, please.

"Sure, let's get dressed and we can go outside." He replied. YESSS.

We got home and I ran back to my room again and again. As I was pulling on my warmers, I heard someone knocking. Don't tell me Landon's already changed.

I walked to the door and opened it. There was Landon, already changed. I think he's teleporting.

"Just give me a minute, please. I'll just get dressed quickly." I told him and put on my warm-ups.

"Take it easy, you don't have to rush." Landon tried to calm me down.

I put on my sweatshirt, jacket, hat and gloves, Landon and I walked outside. It's so beautiful out here. It's snowing beautifully.

"We didn't have much snow in London, it rarely snowed." I told him. "Shall we build a snowman?" I asked him.

"Okay, I'll build the bottom, larger ball, and you build the middle ball."

"How big are we gonna build it?" I asked him.

"Shall we build the biggest snowman possible?" He asked rather than said, but I agreed.

"Okay." I confirmed and we both started rolling our balls.

Not ten minutes later we both had to roll the biggest ball because Landon couldn't move it out of the way by himself, so I helped him move the ball a little to the side.

But compared to my ball, my ball is more of a head than a body.

"Shall we make my ball the head?" I asked him. Landon agreed.

"Then go inside and get a big carrot and find some rocks somewhere and I'll make the ball while you do it. Okay?"

"Okay. I'll go get it." I went inside to get the biggest carrot, which I got right away, except I don't know exactly where I'm gonna get the rocks since everything's under the snow.

But I got everything and I went back to Landon.

"I got a carrot and rocks." I told him tensely. Any I don't know what I'm so happy about. I see that Landon already put the balls on top of each other and wow, the snowman is  tall. And it started snowing even more. I sincerely hope it snows like this at least till morning, because I'm going out again in the morning. 

"Great, you gonna go stick his nose in?" I shook my head yes to that.

I walked over to the snowman and Landon picked me up by my waist because I could barely reach him. I quickly stuck carrot and eyes in and Landon slowly put me back down. Then I stuck the rocks in his coat like a coat and I was done.

"Shall we go home?" I asked him. I'm getting a little cold, and I might as well enjoy the snow tomorrow.

"Sure, sure. We can come here tomorrow morning anyway, I'm sure Kai and Seth will be out right after breakfast." Landon told me. That would be great.

We got right in the hallway inside so we wouldn't drag the snow home.

"Landon?" I don't want to be in bed alone tonight. I'm fine with Landon. I don't have nightmares at night with him.

"Yes?"

"Would you stay here with me tonight? I'm afraid of my own nightmares." I defended him.

"Sure. I'm happy to stay with you." I'm glad he's here for me like this. We finally agreed to go to Landon's room.

We get to Landon's room, but I don't have my pajamas with me. Landon must have understood because he immediately went to his closet and handed me his shirt and some comfortable looking sweatpants. We laid down on the bed and I snuggled up to him.

Landon's bed is so cool, I want to sleep here from now on. He's also got these thick sheets, so cute. He's all warm compared to me, I'm quite cold. Landon's still got both arms around me, I'm encased in him, but I feel safe.

"When would you tell me who hurt you in London?" Landon asked, looking me in the eye.

How am I supposed to tell him? How do I explain it to him? What if everyone loses interest in me because of this?

Landons POV

"It was my step-father." Cori told me. I hope he died an unpleasant death. I had to look away because I didn't want to explode.

"And why did he do that?" I asked her, but when I looked at her I could already see tears escaping. I immediately wiped them away with my hand.

"I don't know, I think he was taking his anger out on me. He never liked me." She replied.

"And your brother?" I asked her.

"He didn't pay attention to me, thankfully. But he wasn't exactly nice to me either." My Cori replied.

"Tell me everything he did to you, I'd like to know and maybe it'll make you feel better." I'd like to know and maybe she'll be really relieved.

"This is too much and I don't know where to start. It was a horror in London."

"Did he beat you every day?" I asked her with an inner fear that he really was beating her every day.

She just shook her head that he did. I don't understand why he would do that. Cori is the nicest person I've ever met.

"He beat me several times every day." Cori said and started crying. I need to calm her down somehow. I can't stand the feeling of Cori crying. I started playing with her hair and gently scratching her back. I don't want her to cry, but I want to know what happened. "I was going to the brig to avoid him, but he was just checking up on me. I had to give him practically all my money. Several times I wanted to kill myself, but I just sensed that, if something fatal like that was going to happen, I could feel it." Cori said to me. She's incredibly strong. I'm incredibly proud of her.

"You're incredibly strong. I'm glad you're here with us." I said to her, and I snuggled up to her even more. "If you don't want to talk anymore, you don't have to. You can tell me again some other time." I hinted to her. I don't want her crying in here. I already know a lot more than I did before.

Cori just shook her head, I can see her eyes closing. I'd like to have her like this all the time. I'm incredibly comfortable with her.

Cori's probably asleep by now. I'm glad she's calm now.

I'm not giving up on Cori. Never.
