Let's catch up pt. 3

Danny's POV

"Hey Danny." I hear Aaron's voice. I get excited. He's the closes thing I've had to a dad since I was born.

"Hey! Mom is inside with Aunt Rebecca and company."

I'm sitting outside enjoying the quietness alone.

"Is something on your mind, Danny?"

"Yeah, actually."

"Want to talk about it, buddy?"

"Yes. If it's okay with you."

"I'm listening."

"I love my mom very much and I appreciate everything she does, but sometimes I wish I had a dad around. Running with mom is fun and all, but I think of having a dad around to run with us. A dad that actually cares for us and won't leave."

"You want a father figure around to teach you things your mommy can't?"

"Yes. And I know all of us are different, but we deserve to know how a father's love. My dad died while driving to hospital for my birth."

Aaron's POV

Oh my fish sticks. How does he know this and he wasn't born?

I hug him before he starts crying. He cries into my shoulder.

"Hey. There you are Danny. Everything okay?"

I give her a thumbs up and a wink.

Danny sits up with a tear stained face and looks at his mom.

"Yeah, mom, we're coming. I just needed to talk to someone."

"Aww honey. It's going to be okay." She says before leaving us.

Danny and I get ourselves together before heading inside.

It's toasty inside.

Grayson's POV

I'm listening to aunt Rebecca and Jeremiah tell us about their trip when I see Danny and Aaron from the corner of my eye.

My brother's been crying. I can tell without looking at him.

Danny and Phillip are always happy. Both of them always cheer me up when I'm sad.
