Livid Love

In Hiding

(A/n: sorry for missing an update yesterday, I couldn't think of what to write 😭)

 We reach the dock and I see a boat bobbing in the harbour,

We all jump onto it and Price goes straight to the wheelhouse,

He twists the key in the ignition and the engine roars, letting everyone know that it's working fine,

We all sit on the small deck as Price starts steering out towards the island on the horizon. Suddenly, we all jerk backwards as the boat snags on something,

"The anchor" says Soap peering over the edge

"I'll get it" I say as I unstrap my armour and kick off my boots

"No stop, I'll do it" says Simon putting a hand on my knee

"Too late", I swing over the edge, making the boat rock slightly. I take a huge breath before diving underwater and I see Simons distorted face looking down at me, I turn my head to see not an anchor, but a thick rope tied in a knot to the docks post. I scrunch up my face as I know this will be hard to untie, I swim over to it and pull on the knot, it's not budging. I pull my combat knife out of my pants pocket and start slicing the rope. A few strands start unravelling. I almost sigh in relief but I remember I'm underwater.

I hear muffled shouting over me just as I reach the halfway point in the rope. I look behind me just as a body plunges under the boat, blood spreading in the water around it. I dig my knife in deeper, slicing off the last strand and I swim closer to the body, it's not any of our men thank god. my breath is starting to leave me and my lungs are desperately trying to suck in air. I burst over the surface, keeping close to the bottom of the boat and I listen,

"Well how was I supposed to know there was one of his men behind me, why didn't y/n warn us that he was coming?" Complains Gaz

"She is busy Gaz! She can't just pop up for a chat to tell us there's a man climbing abord" says Price

"She can hardly hold her breath for this long" says Soap worriedly 

"I'm going in" says Simon and I hear his footsteps walk to the edge

"I did it, it's ok" I say, pulling myself over, "who was that?"

"One of Hasan's men, he probably got separated from the rest of his troops" says Alejandro

I nod, taking the information in,

Price stands back up and heads to the wheelhouse. He turns on the engine again and we continue the journey.

I take my clothes and gear from the bench and carry them behind the wheelhouse so that I can have some privacy when I change. I take off my tank top and wring the water out it, I lay it on the deck to dry in the blazing heat. Next I take off my cargo pants and do the same to them, laying them beside the top. I scroll through my phone trying to dry off a bit before I have to put on the damp clothes again.

About 10 minutes later, I hear price shouting at me from around the corner

"Y/n, we're going to be there in a few minutes so be ready!"

"Ok sir" I say, pulling on my clothes, they actually are less damp than I thought they would be. I strap on my gear again and walk back out to the rest of the group. They are all sitting on their phones on the bench. They all look up as I sit down beside Simon

"What did you use?" Says Rodolfo 

"My knife" I say pointing to the pocket in my pants.

"Ah, good idea"

"Thank you" I smile

The boat pushes onto the sand, signalling for us to get up. I sling my sniper onto my back and I load my M4 with ammo, we step off the boat into shallow waters, trudging through the wet sand. 

"Where to now sir" says Simon as we reach the road leading into the main town on the island,

"Just follow this road and stay alert" says Price 

I take to Simons left and I walk along the edge of the road with him.

"You ok after that?" I say

"I saw him first, I'm fine" he says continuously scanning the area

"Did anyone get hurt?"

"Just the guy who died"

"Good" I mutter

"How did you hold your breath for that long, I thought you were dead or something" he chuckles

"I honestly have no idea" I laugh 

"Stop chatting and focus" says Price behind us

"Sorry sir" we both say
