The island is absolutely tiny, there's a beach surrounding the whole thing and I think I can see a few huts peeking out from behind the palm trees that mark the start of the undergrowth.
"Houses" mutters price as he steps out of the wheelhouse
I awkwardly step back to let Gabriella get off the boat first, it's the least I could do considering I've literally bullyed her for the last few days. Nah I'm joking, there's probably a few jellyfish in the water and I'm not gonna be the one to test that.
Our boots splash in the water as we walk up to dry land.
"Alright, this island is probably about the size of a small town so it shouldn't take long to search it through. Whatever Y/n planned, just do that ok?"
"Yes sir" we say
"Gabriella just stay on the beach, don't go anywhere"
"Ok" she says
Price raises an eyebrow,
"Ok sir" she mumbles
"Move in, and stay quiet"

I duck below a tree branch as I enter the forest with Simon beside me. The rest of the pairs went their separate ways into different directions.
"Let's look in those huts we saw earlier" I say
"Do you know what direction they're even in?"
"It should be abouttt...a quarter of a mile north east" I say turning my head to look at my compass"
"Alright then" he says smiling
...
"Simon" I say as we walk
"Yeah"
"I missed you"
"Y/n it's been two days"
"I know but two days is two days too long without you"
...
"I missed you too"
My boots crush dry leaves under my feet and branches scratch at my coat. We make it to the clearing and I see brown huts with straw roofs sitting in a circle around one big campfire. I step over a fallen tree and wave my hand over it,
"It's cold" I whisper
"We still need to clear the houses" he whispers back
"You take that one and I take this"
I creep over to the hut beside him and I kick open the door, I scan my gun around the room but it's empty.
I step back outside and I see Simon do the same
"Clear"
"Clear"
We move on to the next one. There's no one in them two either.
We clear all of the circle until there's one left.
"Come in with me?"
He nods
I kick open the door and just as I expected, it's empty.
I sigh
"Hold on" Simon crouches down
"What?"
"Someone's here"
"No there isn't we just checked all the h-"
He wraps an arm around my mouth to make me shut up.
In the distance I can hear crying, it sounds like a child.
