the ride back to the house was filled with laughter and reminiscing. Memories were shared between Danielle, Noah and Nicholas as we all just listened. we all stumbled out of the van as we pulled into the drive way.
"I know we just got back but, BEER RUN." Folio exclaims.
"Hell yeahhh. Jolly, you and Charlotte go with nick. Get good shit." Noah says.
"BONFIRE" he grabs my hand and drags me into the back.
"hey. I love you." He pulls me closer.
I give him a smile and hook my fingers in his belt loops, pulling him toward me meeting him with a kiss.
"I love you too, stupid." I punch him.
"You two done." Nicholas stands there watching the whole scene.
"Don't be an ass hole" I laugh. Turning to Nicholas.
the air had gotten colder and the sky, darker. We sat by a perfectly lit fire. Waiting for the others to join the four of us.

"Alright, THE PARTY IS HERE" jolly yells from the other side of the back gate.
The others follow carrying bags of bottles and six packs of beer.
we took our seats around the fire, drinks in hand, jolly with a guitar and Aliyah in folios lap.
"Any requests?" Jolly raises a brow.
"Okay us something new." I suggest. Jolly looks to Noah.

jolly starts playing a tune that I had heard months earlier, Nick follows him by tapping on the table. Both creating a melody.
We all listened closely, sipping our drinks and swaying back and forth.

I sit there listening, staring intensely at Noah.

The girls and folio had gone in, leaving me and Noah, jolly and nicholas to watch the fire fade into the darkness.
Lying back into Noah, feeling his stomach move as he breathed, I looked at the stars and listened to jolly and Nicholas drunkenly play on guitars.
"Dance with me in the dark." Noah whispers softly in my ears.
we faded into the light from the fire as silhouettes.
"This has been one of the best weeks I've ever had Noah, thank you for bringing me here." I rest my head on his chest as we drunkenly sway in the dark.
"I'm glad you came with me. even though you seen me get my ass kicked by a guy shorter than me." He softly chuckles.
"You can't win them all." I smile. "Promise me something."
"what is it?" He asks.
" that no matter what, you will protect and fight for Aliyah the same way Nick fights for me." Look at his features in the moonlight, studying his nose.
