★彡[ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ꜰᴏᴜʀᴛᴇᴇɴ]彡★

"Hello?"

Itachi's eyes widened when the liitle girl fliched and crawled away from him, all while crying and trying her best to keep breathing which only caused her to have a panic attack.

He stood for a second, unsure of what to do... the only child he ever took care of was his little brother, that too only until he was 6 or 7 and he became too busy to even come home at that point.

He slowly lowered himself and sat on the ground, with the most friendly smile that he could muster.

ah, it was such a foreign feeling.. he couldn't remeber the last time he gave someone a friendly smile.. probably when he was 13 or 14? hah..

Sayuri carefully watched his every more, she had no idea who he was

"wh- who are you?" her voice came out as a raspy whisper, but he managed to hear.

It made his happy for some reason, this was the first time he heard her voice.. his smile widdened as he introduced himself.

"My name is Itachi."

"oh."

Sayuri blinked away her tears, and rubbed her eyes.. while Itachi stared mesmerized at the sight of her heterochromia eyes.

she sat straight with her legs crossed and fiddled with her tiny fingers, unintentionally melting a certain Uchiha heart with her overload cuteness.

"I-.. I'm Sayuri." she pointed at herself while keeping her eyes on her feet.

Itachi continued to stare at her, as he noticed how similar she looks to his younger brother..

but he couldn't help but notice how puffy her eyes were, he could see the unsure look on her face making him wonder what happened to her.

Her hair looked all tangled as if someone had been running their hand through it many times.

She looked so sad and traumatized..

He gave her a worried look before saying,

"Are you alright, Sayuri? I'm sorry for startling you."

"uh- uhm.. yeah, I'm okay.. I-It's okay." she nervously mumbled while fiddling with her tiny fingers, honestly scared that he'd pull out a knife and stab her if she deosn't answer him fast enough.

Itachi gave her a sad smile before saying,

"No need to be afraid Sayuri, I will never hurt you."

The little girl could tell that he was being sincere, so she felt slightly at ease.

Seeing this, Itachi felt warm.. at this point.. he knew who she was but still wanted to make sure.

and so he asked with a knowing smile,

"Sayuri, if you don't mind me asking.. Do you know anyone by the name Sasuke uchiha?"

Sayuri's sad eyes brightened the moment she heard the all too familiar name of her idol.

"Chi-chi?"

Itachi let a small chuckle as his eyes teared up, his little brother had grown into a man and now he has his own family.. Itachi couldn't help but feel proud at how far Sasuke had come.

He lived and died in guilt knowing that he messed Sasuke's brain to the point where he was willing to do anything for revenge.

He opened his eyes and stared at his niece, it has barely been ten minutes but he knew for sure that he'd die all over again if it meant that she'd be safe.
