Her Blazed Love (KILLUA X OC)

Chapter 3

I breathed the sigh of relief when I realized that I wasn't too far away from the exit of this tunnel

"Goal!" Gon and Killua yelled at the same time
I slowly walked up the steps, tired. "You guys are so loud.." I said, walking up to them
"Since I came in first, you have to treat me!" Killua said

"No! I won! You have to treat me!" Gon replied
I sighed at the two "how about you just treat each other since you arrived at the same time?" I said

Killua snapped his head twords me
"You didn't even try to win, Kuzuko!" Killua yelled, pointing at me.

"obviously" I said, killua scoffed and turned twords gon
"We'll just do what she said" he mumbled, I smirked in response .

Gon then turned twords the navigator "is this where the second phase starts?" He asked
I perked up, wanting to know how much more we'd have to run.

No, we still have quite a while to go." He said. I mentally whined as I realized we probably had to do more running, not that like it mattered, I just didn't wanna do it.

"Kurapika!" Gon yelled, I turned around and saw Kurapika and leorio, but leorio didn't look so good.

"Hey, is this the end?" Kurapika asked
"Nope!" Gon said "Ah, really? Look! The fog is clearing" kurapika mentioned. I looked at the fog with interest.

We all looked as the fog slowly started drifting away, it was a dark forest. I tensed as I recognized the forest, yes, this was the forest I used to run away from the orphanage, that means it must be near by.

Panic was bubbling in my stomach as I realized I was now closer to that place that I thought.

I tuned out what was going on around me, but gon and killua seemed to notice my distress, but more importantly, killua was eyeing me.

"The numere wetlands. This is the path you have to take to get to the second phase" Satoz said, I came back to reality as my suspicions were right.

'It's fine. As long as I use a different path then I did that day they shouldn't find me' I thought
I started to tune everything out agian as I was in deep thought.

'if I remember correctly, there should be a different pathway somewhere that I can take as a detour'
I was ripped out of my thoughts as someone yelled

"Don't fall for it!" Someone yelled from beside me
"Hah. Of course I'm not falling for it." Leorio said. the man then paused before speaking agian.

"Everyone, don't fall for it!" A man that looked pretty beat up came from around the corner
'Weird. If he was actually in dire need why would he come here?'I thought as I stared at the man .

"This man has been lying to you!" He yelled
I looked back at Satoz and chuckled at his face, is was kinda funny
"Surely he doesn't think we're dumb enough to fall for that right." I whispered
Gon and killua looked at me confused

"He's not an examiner! He's an imposter! I'm the real examiner!" He yelled
"Look at this!" He said as he brought out a man faced ape.

Ah yes. The scary creatures the orphanage all warned us about. Well to be honest they don't look like that, and not like they every got near the orphanage in the first place.

I lightly laughed as I realized who the imposter was, earning an odd glance from killua
"Man faced apes love the taste of human flesh. But thier limbs are slender, not making them powerful at all!" He yelled

'When is everyone gunna realize it? Should I say something?' I thought, getting annoyed.
"He intends to catch all the Hunter exam candidates in one go!" He said
People started talking amongst themselves, saying how they belived the imposter .

Oh well, if they die it's not my problem I guess.
I crossed my arms as a small wave of fustration over came me, how are these people so gullible?

Suddenly, three cards were thrown into the man's chest, killing him almost instantly, I looked over and saw that Satoz caught them all

"I can see it now" The clown man said as he shuffled his cards
"Isn't it obvious?" He said
I shivered, I guess that's one way to figure it out.

"so you are the real examiner" he said
I sighed 'This clown dude sure is trouble, best I stay away from him.'

Suddenly the dead man faced ape sprawled away, confirming everything "A so called hunter examiner as an actual hunter hired by the selection committee to serve for free" Clown dude explained

"I'll take that as a compliment, but if you attack me agian next time, I will disqualify you" he said
"Understood" the creepy clown man smirked at his cards

Suddenly a bunch of large birds flew down and started eating the fake Imposer, leorio started to talk "It may be the law of nature but it's still cruel." He said

Satoz then started talking agian, bringing back our focus once more. I groaned, just wanting to get this phase over with now that my mood had been spoiled.

"He accused me of being a fake imposter to confuse candidates, so he could take away a few people" he explained. I paled as I had realized Satoz had no mouth and talked with his mustache instead..?

Killua then spoke from beside Gon and I
"We can't let our guard down" he said
"Yeah" gon replied

I stayed silent, a bit shocked that those two didn't realize it from the beginning. Oh well.
"There are going to be life threading tricks like this. Some of you almost fell for it and began to suspect me. Am I right?" He said

Leorio and the others started sheepishly laughing, denying it.
"Listen up, the fog will thicken as we get closer into the forest. Make sure to stay close behind me" Satoz explained

I guess on the bright side I know my way around this forest as I have practiced escaping many times before I actually did.

I slowly started drifting from the group as they followed the examiner, almost running straight twords the orphanage. Hell no

I took a detour that would still allow me to follow him from a distance, but the fear evident in my stomach kept me from staying with the group. My stomach twisted and turned, I groaned as my stomach started to get upset.

"Huh? Where did Kuzuko go?"I heard gon yell
"What?" Killua looked around for me, but couldn't see me
I heard them say they were moving to the front, then something about this hisoka guy. Is that the clown dude? Eh I don't care enough to find out.

I started hopping from tree to tree, trying to distance myself as much as possible
I heard distant screams then realized that some of the constestants had died

Suddenly, something appeared right infront of me
'Huh? An animal?' I thought as I saw a monkey that had horns, it then launched directly at me, catching me off guard.
I was able to dodge it just in time, grabbing my staff from my pocket
I clicked the button that opened it up, smacking the beast in the face. I then flipped the bar around, getting ready to attack agian.

'Huh? It's leaving?' I thought as the animal disappeared into the fog
"less work for me" I said out loud.
I then put the staff back into it's folded position, placing it back into my pocket.

I wandered around for a while, taking my time with finding the place. Suddenly a huge building came into view with a gate

'Hm? Is this the next phase entry? I got here before everyone else." I thought to myslef, looking at the trail that led up to the gate

"I guess I'll just wait here" I sighed, sitting down under a tree.
'Gon, Killua, Leorio, Kurapika, please be okay.' I worried as I didn't want my new friends to be hurt.
