Chapter 31

I woke up in the middle of the night, it was really cold and I only had one blanket on me. I thought about killuas offer as I shifted uncomfortably.

'I mean, he did offer I could scoot over..' I thought as I wrapped the blanket around me, trying to keep warm as I shivered. Suddenly, I heard shifting from beside me.

"Kuzuko?" Killua said quietly as he turned towards me. I guess my restlessness woke him up. "Sorry I didn't mean to wake you" I said quietly, trying to not wake gon.

"I was already restless." Killua sighed as he turned to face me fully. His eyes suddenly widened slightly. "Your shaking." He said. "Yeah, it gets cold here at night I guess." I said, still snuggled up in the blanket.

Suddenly, killua grabbed his comforter and scooted close to me, getting on my bed. He covered us with the comforter. "I told you, you just needed to come to me." He whispered as he scooted closer.

My face flushed bright red at his close proximity. We stared at eachother momentarily before he coughed, embarrassment taking over him. "You should be warm now." He said as he lied back down, laying close to me. "Thank you..killua." I said as I lied on the pillow, now sharing my bed with him. "Don't mention it.." he said, embarrassed.

I felt myslef start to fall asleep, the warmth of the boy next to me helped out alot as I started to close my eyes, a small smile appearing on my face.

I woke up feeling very warm. As I opened my eyes I saw killua laying right infront of me. We were very close, our noses almost touching. My face flushed bright red as I tried moving away without waking him.

I didn't notice until I had moved that his hand hovered over mine while we slept. My face had to be as red as a tomato as I moved away from him slowly.

'Was he holding my hand?!" I thought as I sat up in the bed, feeling warm all over. 'No, it was just sitting right on top of mine.' I continued to think as I stared at the boy.

"Oh?" Killua said as he picked up the box as we sat on Gons floor. "I see." He said as he analyzed the box.

"So this came from your dad?" I asked, looking at the weird box. "Yeah, he left it for me to open when I became a hunter." He explained while killua looked around the box, trying to find a way to open it.

"How do you open it?" He asked. I then perked up. "Maybe there's like a latch or something that you pull?" I said as I looked at it.

"I've tried a bunch of ways, but it won't open." Gon said in response. "Mind if I use a bit of force?" Killua asked as he held the box.

"Go ahead." Gon replied. Killua then took the box and used pretty much all his strength, but it wouldn't budge. "Seems like even killua isn't strong enough for it." I said as I mumbled, not realizeing the insult I said.

"Yeah right! I'd like to see you try!" He yelled, waving the box at me. I only shrugged, knowing I couldn't open it.

Killua then spoke from next to me, forgetting our previous convo. "Since we don't know what's inside, we can't break it." He said as he waved the box around.

"Your dad said to give this to you once you became a hunter right?" He asked. "Yeah, that's what I was told." Gon replied.

"Once you became a hunter..." I mumbled, wondering how we can open it. Killua then brightened as he had an idea. "That could he it!" He said as he looked at it.

I tilted my head, wondering what he meant. "I figured it out!" He said. "Guys, there's one thing we haven't tired yet." He said, smiling confidently. "Hm? What is it?" I asked.

He only put his finger up to his mouth, shushing me. An irk mark appeared on my forehead, as I was told to shut up.

"It's something you have as a hunter than you didn't have before." He said, giving us a clue. I only fell back, laying down. "This is confusing" I whined.

"Ah that's right! My hunters license!" Gon said as he held the card. "But there isn't any opening for it." Gon said, eyeing the box.

"No that's not it...I meant nen." Killua said as he sweat dropped. Then shot up, realizing it too. "That makes sense, try it!" I said.

Gon then focused his aura on the box, making small slabs fall out one at a time, making the box open. "It worked!" I said as I watched it fall, revealing another box inside.

Killua picked up one of the metal plates, looking at it. I too did the same and saw a familiar pattern. "Hey, this pattern." I said as I looked at it. "Yeah, that design looks familiar." Killua said as he tossed the plate to gon.

"This is...I know!" Gon said as he realized it. "This is like the pattern on the promise thread Mr wing gave me" he said as i perked up in realization. "Yeah, your right." I said as I continued to analyze the plate.

"Wasn't it designed to snap if nen was used?" Killua asked. I only shrugged. "I think that's what he said."

Killua then bend over and picked up another plate. "I bet this pattern holds a power similar to nen." He explained. I tossed the plate onto the ground.

Gon the picked up the box and spoke. "I bet we put the card in here now." He said as he inserted the license into the 2nd box.

"It worked!" Gon said. "Nice!" I replied. "A ring and a casset tape.." gon said as he looked down at the box.

"And a memorie card." Killua added on. "Aren't those for like games?" I asked, not too sure. Killua only tuned to me, nodding his head.

Killua picked up the ring, looking at it. "Look, the same pattern is on the back of this ring." He said as i scooted over, looking at it.

"You should be careful before putting in on." Killua added on. "Really? You think going might do something to hurt me?" Gon asked as a bead of sweat dripped down his face.

Gon then stood up. "Well, we can start by listening to the tape." He said as he got up and went to the closet, grabbing the door "oh! Can you copy it?" Killua asked as gon stood up. "Sure! Why?" Gon asked.

Killua then smirked. "Just to be safe." He said smugly. Gon sat down the casset player, inserting the casset into it.

Is this going to hold clues on Gons dad? I hope so.
