Chapter 38

We continued to walk while we talked about the attack. I stayed silent as my stomach twisted and turned.

"Kuzuko, what's wrong?" I heard killua ask from beside me. I turned to him, a look of worry all over my face.

"It's nothing." I sighed, trying to kept my composure. He only scoffed as he didn't belive me, continuing the conversation.

"We already know who would do something like this anyways." Killua said, leaving me temporarily alone.

"The phantom troupe.." leorio said. That's right, kurapikas goal is to get rid of them right? No doubt about it, he's already gotten affiliated with them.

"Oh yeah, what's kurapika up to?" Gon asked. I perked up, wondering if they had some information. "Yeah, he's in the city but hasn't called." Killua said, looking at gon.

I suddenly felt my shorts buzz, 'a phone call?' I wondered as I grabbed my phone out of my pocket. Gon then ran over to me. "Hey! Is that kurapika?" Gon said, looking at the screen.

I only shook my head no, it was some odd number. Who would call me? I declined the call as I shoved my phone back in my pocket. "It's probably spam." I said, not thinking twice about it.

Gon then called kurapika, the phone rang and rang, but no one answered. My stomach got worse, thinking the worst had happened.

"Do you think..." I whispered, hoping he wasn't at the underground auction. Killua then turned to me, placing his hand on my shoulder.

"Don't worry, Kuzuko. Kurapika is strong, I'm sure he's alright." He said, trying to cheer me up. "Maybe he's working?" Leorio said, making me look up at him.

"Working?" Killua asked, removing his hand from my shoulder. "I heard that he's been working as a bodyguard." Leorio said.

"Most likely for some VIP.." leorio said. I only kept my head low. The dots were connecting perfectly, almost too perfectly.

"He's tracking down the scarlet eyes, so he must be working for someone in the underground." Leorio finished. I only sighed, this makes too much sense.

"What if Kuzukos right?" Gon said, getting worried. "He wouldn't of been caught up in the attack, if the group attacked, he would be actively hunting them down." Leorio said, trying to make us feel better.

"I hope your right." Gon said as he called him agian.

We were now in the computer lab like before. I agian didn't use a computer and just watched the three, not like I could do anything anyways.

"Damn it, I've got nothing." Leorio complained as his chair scooted out. Killua then spoke up. "That two billion reward per spider is attractive, but finding them will be impossible." He said, turning around.

"Yeah, we could ask for concrete evidence on the website.." gon said, perking up. I looked at him, "would the website really have information?" I asked. "It's a possibility." He replied.

"We could offer a large reward!" He said, saying how if we were provided any information we'd pay them.

"Hey hold on." Leorio said, butting in. "We don't have the money for that!" He said. "It will be fine!" He said, whipping out his license.

'Oh I see what he's doing.' I thought, he's going to sell it.

"Man I can't believe you sold your license." Killua said, looking at him. "It really is worth a lot.." I mumbled as I remembered the amount he got.

"What should we do first?" Gon asked. Looking at leorio. "Let's start by purchasing a southernbees catalog." He said, lifting a finger up.

"A Southern what?" I said, completely clueless. We walked and got to the store, where the lady gave us the catalog. "Here is this years southernbees auction catalog." She said.
