Why is it so fucking hot?

It's summer so that means it's bound to be hot but today feels unusually bad.

I've had the window open for hours and the slight breeze is doing nothing to cool me down.

After I helped Mrs. Cole with some of her work I was sweating buckets.

I found a stray fan while on the way back to my room so I pinched it. I plugged it in, in my room and sat infront of it for like an hour. It helped a little but I still feel droopy from the heat and I have a headache so bad it feels like my head is going to explode.

I should drink more, being heavily dehydrated in this heat can't be good for me.

I get up from my slouched position against my dressing table.

"Frinkles." I say, motioning for him to come with me.

He hurries along after me, seemingly not too bothered about the heat.

When we get to the kitchen, I pour a glass of water for myself, using the ice cubes from the ice cube dispenser to further cool myself down.

I pour Frinkles some water in one of the cat bowls I left down here. It has his name engraved on the side.

I sit at the table, trying to relax while drinking my ice cold water.

Vanessa comes into the kitchen, opens the fridge and takes out a plastic bottle.

"Hi," She says. "I didn't see you there."

"Hi."

"You look really hot." Vanessa says while opening her bottle.

"I am." I reply and she takes a seat at the table. "In more ways than one." I joke.

She laughs. "I don't know what clothes you have in your closet but if you want something shorter I can lend you a crop top or something?" She offers, noticing I'm wearing a baggy t-shirt.

"No thanks I'll be ok." I reply straight away. I'd rather stick to my comfort zone and boil alive than wear something shorter.

A beat of silence passes before she speaks up again. "Does Blaine seem off to you?" She asks. "I only ask because everyone's saying you've known him a long time too, which I also think is strange because Blaine didn't even mention you, no offense, until recently."

I shrug. "He never much liked me so I wouldn't have thought he'd be telling everyone about me." I state. "And what do you mean he seems off?"

"I don't know if I'm seeing things that aren't there but he seems more distant, not just to me but to everyone recently. People are saying that he was shot and he's limping slightly but when I asked him about it he got mad for no reason and wouldn't tell me anything. He snaps at people a lot but he rarely ever snaps at me. I think something's wrong."

"Did you ask Francisco about this?"

"No. We both know why that's a bad idea." She states. Right, the two of them are on...odd terms?

"I think that you should see how it goes. Blaine doesn't-" I have to cut myself off from using the words 'seem like' because I'm meant to know him. "want people in his space a lot of the time. If you push I think you'll just make it worse. I think you should give him a little time to figure whatever it is out by himself and if he's still not back to 'normal', whatever classifies as Blaine normal, then maybe have a word with him."

"Yeah, you're right. I tried to push him for answers about his leg which just made him more adamant about not telling me."

"I'm sure that in time, he'll tell you." I sure as hell I don't want to be around when that happenes. Blaine isn't as angry as I thought he would be about me shooting him but I don't think Vanessa or the rest of his mafia will be so kind.
