Konoha sat peacefully. Not long after the victory against the sound the final ninja of the Sound Five were routed. All killed by an Archer of immense power. Something Tsunade had been thankful for.
It had been two years since Naruto left. The tales of his exploits were heard from in almost every nation. His last mission aiding the Kazekage Gaara.
Reading the report the Hokage grinned. He took on over two hundred enemy shinobi from Iwa on his own. Killing or capturing each one. Effectively earning a flee in sight order from the nation. Tsunade couldn't help but laugh at the fact he was so much like his birth father.
"Lady Tsunade what's on your mind?" Shizune asked as she sat down on the other side of the desk, "Has Shikamaru and Mito returned from their mission yet?"
"Yes. Why are you so anxious to have them back?" She asked curiously. Folding her hands she smiled, "Well their teammate should be back today."
"Naruto?!" Shizune asked excitedly, "Yes. He has far surpassed Jiriaya's expectations at this point. Having one of our strongest assets out of the village would be a waste of resources now."
Meanwhile Naruto and Gamakichi approached the gate of Konoha. The young toad was much bigger now. He was easily taller than Naruto but not nearly the size of his father. Though he did carry a sword and started smoking.
Naruto though had changed a lot. Growing his hair out again which was tied back now. His Jonin vest had been utterly destroyed. Instead of replacing it he bought an orange and black jacket. Dark blue combat pants and shinobi saddles to go along with it.

"You know I was thinking Naruto I could have been a huge help on the last mission!" Naruto couldn't help but laugh at his friend, "With what?! I had it under control!"
Gamakichi pouted, "Yeah but I want to have fun too. I'm going to be the next big Toad Boss ya know."
"Yeah yeah I know." Naruto chuckled before seeing the two guards. Kotetsu and Izumo walked out to stop Naruto, "What's your business in Kono-" Kotetsu stopped in shock.
Izumo smiled, "Holy crap! Naruto you grew the hell up!" Rubbing the back of his head, "Yeah I guess so! I'm not a shrimp anymore anyways."
"You better go see the Hokage than. Naruto nodded, "Yup headed there first thing." In a blink of an eye the blond was gone.
"Wonder if the stories about him are true?" Izumo asked. Kotetsu sighed in annoyance, "Probably. Another Ninja left us in the dust."
Walking into the Hokage office both Shikamaru and Mito felt some relief. Mito looked around as she enter the office.
Tsunade smiled at the two. They had grown so much. Both in power and skill. Shikamaru hadn't physically changed all much. His hair style was the same but he was the top tactician in the village now. He had also revolutionized the Shadow possession technique.
