The new marauder

Chapter 70

Potions next morning was a drag. I was sat next to some derpy Ravenclaw who wouldn't shut up about wizards chess. Sometimes i like that game, but having this guy talk in so much depth to me about it makes me want to use the damn chess board to whack him round the head.

Rolling my eyes for the millionth time, i sigh and hope this lesson passes by quickly. If it doesn't i'll just have to cause havoc to get myself moved.

The only  Gryffindors in here are Sirius, Remus, Lily, James, Frank, Alice and I. The rest are Slytherins and Ravenclaws. Snape is in here too.

Shame.

"This year, you will be working in pairs, I've decided who will go together."

Everyone starts to protest but there is no way old Sluggy is going to let us get away with us in our own chosen pairs.

"No complaining, you will be withe this person the whole year."

He starts to read off the list.

"Sirius and Remus."

They high five.

"Alice and Frank."

Of course.

"James and Lily."

James perks right up and smiles widely at Lily as she reluctantly sits next to him.  

I wiggle my eyebrows at her and receive a death glare i return.

"And finally Summer and Severus."

The whole room goes silent and a sly smirk grows on my face.

Snivelly recently remembered what i had done to him, though i threatened him to make sure he didn't spill.

Standing up, i walk stalk over to him as i watch the fear grow in those evil eyes.

"Sev and I are going to work so well together! Isn't that right Severus?"

He nods nervously.

The lesson begins and i sit back, knowing full well i'm going to have fun messing with him this year.

"What are you planning you sneaky little minx?"

"Nothing!"

"Yeah right!"

I smile up at Sirius as he stands behind me, playing with my hair.

He's right, i am planning.

To run out into the rain without him expecting it so he can't tell me not to.

Lessons are done for today, and i'm sitting in a window sill that overlooks the courtyard.

He sits next to me and i plan to run in a few minutes.

"How did you sleep?"

"Fine."

"Really?"

"Yes."

"You know Summer,  if you ever have a bad day, night, sleep whatever you can come and talk to me? I have bad dreams all the time, i know the feeling. We can cuddle and talk, or just cuddle. Just don't sit awake by yourself okay?"

"Okay."

"Good, now are you going to run of into the rain so i can run after you yelling that you're a lunatic?"  

"How?"

"I know you Summer."

I smile genuinely at him before running off into the open. I hear him chuckling behind me and i think back to the days where we'd flirt shamelessly and hadn't a clue about each others feelings.

Look how far we've come.

Lily said something to me and i remember it so clearly, even if it was about a year ago.

"You've changed him, all of them, in a good way."

I can't help but stop and think about that.

"Why did you stop?"

"Did i change you all?"

"Who?"

"You and the guys?"

"I guess, in a way. We've matured a lot. But it's a good way."

"What were you like before i got here?"

"Little shits."

"I doubt that."

"It's true, ask anyone."

"I believe you. I'm glad i met you."

"So am i."

The rain stops and i pout.

"Don't be sad, it will rain again soon."

"I can make it rain if i want."

"Really?"

"Yes, i control the weather."

"So if i asked you for a tornado?"

"Done."

The wind picks up and starts to spin round and round.

"Okay stop!"

Just like that, it stops.

"Can you explain how it works?"

"Well, my elements include Water, Air, Fire and Earth. With air, i can control the wind and the clouds, thus creating tornadoes, storms and cloudy days. If i wanted it to rain, i would use my Water element to push the water out of the clouds. The sun is a big ball of fire and gas, so if i want it to be sunny, i just add more fire to the sun to increase it's temperature. The earth, if the grass is wet, i can dry it. I can also melt snow with fire. Simple really."

"You never cease to amaze me."    

"You've never seen my water element have you?"

"Yes i have, i kinda watched you when you showed Lily in fourth year."

"Oh, what did you think?"

"I liked the way you got it to change color and make it look like animals."

"Thank you, Years of practice."

"I can tell. how did you practice without people noticing?"

"Well, most of the schools i went to, there was a wood or forest surrounding it. Sneaked off in my animal form and kept in a secret."

"Must have been hard, controlling yourself and being so in your own company so much."

"Well, i'm used to my own company."

"I suppose, did you leave those diaries at home?"

"No."

"Are you still reading them?"

"Yes."

"You should leave them alone for a while, give yourself a break."

"I guess that would be best."

"Yes. Now stop being sad and make it rain so i can chase you!"

"As long as i get a head start?"

"Go on then!"

I laugh and run away as i make the rain pour but not essentially get us wet.

The happiness rain can bring you.
