The new marauder

Chapter 74

I sit uncomfortably.

Not able to move, to speak.

It's dark, but i do have my eyes closed so.

When i said to Lily that it took more than a cut to hurt me, the world must have been listening and wanted to prove me wrong.

I don't blame Remus at all.

Or Sirius, or Peter or anyone.

It was an accident.

I should be fine later today, as long as i don't speak too much.

But for now, i can only wait.

Earlier that day:

Remus is more ill than usual today, and since i have no lessons left today i'm sat in the hospital wing with him doing my homework.

He's asleep at the moment so i try to keep my mumbling down.

There's much more to astronomy than looking at stars.

Remus starts to stir after a while and i look up as his groggy gaze falls on me.

"Hey buddy, how're you feeling?"

"I'm alright. What are you doing?"

"Homework."

"Shouldn't you be in class?"

"I have three free periods so i get the rest of the day off."

"And you came here?"

"Yep. So you don't have to sit in this boring room all by yourself."

"I'm used to being alone."

"Well get used to not being alone."

"Can you do me a favor?"

"Anything."

"Can you get me some chocolate?"

"Sure."

I get up and make my way to the kitchens which are only a few corridors away.

Tickling the pear, i get his chocolate and something for me to munch on too.

After i finish my homework, Remus and i talk before i have to go to dinner.

I'll be seeing him later anyway.

Lily takes ages to fall asleep and by the time she does, Remus will have already been transformed for two hours.

I run as fast as i can down the tunnels under the shrieking shack.

Changing into lady, i burst through the doors and knock Remus over.

It's a good thing too because he looked like he was about to pounce on Peter. Remus turns to face me, spit flying as he snarls at me.

I growl in return to them and hold my stance.

Takes more than a snarl to frighten me.

His attention is caught by Sirius and just before Remus runs at him, i head butt him in the side.

I do this again and again until he's pinned to the wall.

He's strong but i hold him back and glance at James.

All it took was my paw to slip on some slippy wood, and i went toppling down.

Which gave Remus long enough to attack me.

The last thing i remember before i blacked out was seeing those big claws closing in on me.
