Chapter 86

If there was one thing worse than his death, it was explaining it to everyone that hurt. Especially Xenophilius.

I wasn't the one to do it. I ran away, like i always do when faced with a problem. I stayed with Dilly the whole week and was only visited by Kelly who brought me food which i reused to eat.

I know the others worried about me, but i didn't want to see them. I wanted Charlie. But he's gone. On the rare occasion that i'd fall asleep, i had nightmares about it.

I know i had to go back.But i wanted to see Xenophilius first.

I got dressed after i knew Sirius had left.

I'll see him later, he wont be happy with me. He never is when i up and leave.

But he'll have to deal with it.

His house has a gloomy feel to it and i can only imagine why.

Knocking on the door, i step back a bit and wait.

There's a a crashing noise from inside and i'm startled as the door is flung open.

To say he looks done with life is a understatement.

With dark bags under his eyes, greasy hair and un kept clothes, i can tell these few days have been hell for him.

"Summer?"

"Xen.."

"Come in, come in."

he steps aside and i step into their- i mean his- house.

I sit down in the chair by the windows and he sits opposite

We're silent for a long time.

"How have you been?"

"Fine.."

We share a look before his collected form collapses and he bursts into tears.

I soon join him, sitting on the floor next to him as we cry together.

"It's horrible."

"I know."

"I can't sleep or eat. Every thing i look at reminds me of him."

"I know how you feel Xenophilius."

"I'll never get over him. So many time this week i just thought of leaving. joining him."

"that's not what he'd want."

"I'd never know."

"It's all my fault."

"What?"

"I got distracted for a second and i couldn't protect him. I tried to make him go home before the duel even started and he just wouldn't."

"it's not your fault! Don't blame yourself for what she did to him."

"You know who did it?"

"Lily mentioned it when she told me."

"When's his funeral."

"Next week."

"Where is he being buried?"

"At his home in America. That's where his mom wanted him to be."

"Who told his family?"

"Dumbledore did."

"Is his body?"

"It's at the hospital for now."

"I'm so sorry Xen. He really did love you."
