Domenico's POV

I smiled as I walked to my car. The stubbornness of this woman. Imagine telling me to leave. It's not going to be that easy. I made up my mind. I am going to fight for her whether she wants it or not. My ringing phone brought me out of my stupor. "I warned you Domenico. You are playing with fire and with the future of our family. I will not allow it" my mother's voice rang from the other side of the line. My heart sank, as I fully understand the impact of her words. My mother can be the warmest, sweetest person in the world, but her dark side tends to become equally dark, and I shiver as I think of all the possible things that she can come up with to make me and Mika's life miserable. "Can we at least talk about it?" I quietly replied. "Of course we can. I will meet you at your house in an hour" she responded without hesitation, which told me that she was expecting that reply. So everything was well thought out. A feeling of dread overcame me as I realized that if this is as bad as I presume it to be I will lose Mika forever. My mother will make sure of that.
