Jace's POV.......

"Stop it......" Sophie says with a giggle.

I'm sitting on the couch in the living room with my legs on the glass center table, playing Clash of Clans.
I hear Idris' room door open and then footsteps.
He and Sophie's.
They're saying something that I can't hear....well.

"I ain't doing nothing." Idris says.

"Oh.....Morning Jace." Sophie says to me after she came out to the living room with Idris.

"Morning Sophie." I say.

Idris and Sophie start walking towards the house front door.

"Will see you later, babe." Sophie says to Idris.

"Okay. Lemme know when you get to your place." Idris says. He kisses Sophie.

"Okay.....bye Jace." Sophie says and proceeds to leave the house.

"Hey man." Idris says to me. He playfully pulls my legs down from the glass table and sits on it.

"Hey" I say.

"When did you get back yesterday?" Idris asks.

"Uh...around past ten or so." I say.

"Oh....I didn't hear you come in." Idris says.

"Would you've heard me?" I ask not really expecting any answer.

"Maybe....maybe not.....so...how did it go with the Mia girl?" Idris asks.

"What are you talking about?" I ask.

"It's too late to deny, dude. I saw you guys walk to the front of the house and then turned back.

"Oh......I was only showing her where I live." I say.

"Okay...I see you guys finally took the walk that you said was "interrupted" on the night of Dave's party." Idris says.

Dave is his friend who is not my friend.

I know I've mentioned that before.

"Yeah....that was all that came to my mind after I left." I say.

"How did it go? Did you ask her out already?" Idris asks.

"Huh?"

"Jace, I've seen the way you look at her. I know you love her." Idris says.

"You don't know that." I say.

"I do. She seems nice. I think you guys can work out." Idris says.

"That's what you think but that may not be the case." I say.

"You know my thoughts are never wrong." Idris says.

I let out a little sigh.

"Did you ask her out?" Idris asks.

"Not really." I say.

"What do you mean by "not really"?" Idris asks.

"I asked her to go out with me as a reward for being a good student to her." I say.

"You're kidding, right?" Idris asks.

"I'm not." I say.

"Why would you even do that? You could've let your feelings be known and then you ask her out properly." Idris says.

"She doesn't date, what was I supposed to do?" I ask.

"What?" Idris asks.

"She doesn't date, Idris. She has never dated." I say.
