After the wedding sedan had traveled through more than half of the capital, it finally arrived at Prince Yu of the First Rank's residence.

Several guests had already arrived at Prince Yu's residence. Despite Prince Yu's reputation for being fierce and cruel, ministers and officials still attended the wedding as he was a member of the Imperial family. Emperor Wen Hui and the Princes had yet to arrive, but gifts had been sent from the Palace.

Perhaps due to Emperor Wen Hui's recent attitude, which had apparently upset Prince Yu, he didn't show any gestures of gratitude or raise a toast during the visit from the Palace representatives. When the GongGong from the Palace witnessed this, he couldn't help but feel disdain. To others, eunuchs like him might be considered worthless, but in reality, they were the ones closest to the Emperor. There seemed to be a rift between Emperor Wen Hui and Prince Yu, as Prince Yu continued with his usual behavior, but Emperor Wen Hui was no longer as tolerant. Prince Yu's actions today would likely only further anger Emperor Wen Hui.

As the Palace representatives departed, Prince Yu instructed the servants to continue welcoming the guests. Today, Prince Yu of the First Rank wore bright red wedding robes, and while the fabric and embroidery were undoubtedly intricate, the attire looked awkward on him, with one side of his pants left empty. Moreover, he wore a fierce expression but had to force a smile onto his face. No one knew who he was smiling for, but his smile sent shivers down one's spine.

The Shen family also arrived. Shen Gui and Shen Wan had already sought out their familiar colleagues for conversation. Shen Gui, aware of Shen Qing's scandal, saw this as an opportunity to leverage his relationship with Prince Yu for career advancement. Shen Wan, being the more ambitious of the two, wouldn't miss such an opportunity.

Shen Xin and Luo Xue Yan sat together on the bride's family side and observed Shen Gui's behavior with disdain. Ren Wan Yun came over to sit with Shen Yuan. She had carefully applied makeup to conceal her red eyes and was fearful of angering Prince Yu, so she forced herself to smile. However, her smile appeared to contain underlying anger. Shen Yuan had no expression, but when his eyes passed over Jennie, they held a meaningful gaze.

Shen Qiu noticed Shen Yuan's gaze and often obstructed it. When Luo Xue Yan became aware of this, she asked thoughtfully, "Silly boy, what's going on between you and Shen Yuan?"

Shen Xin and his wife were not aware of Shen Qing's and Jennie's feud, so Shen Qiu responded vaguely, "I find him disagreeable, and there's some friction."

"You're quite something," Luo Xue Yan scolded him. "Harming someone without martial arts. Shen Qiu, how old are you now?"

Shen Qiu looked to Jennie for help, but she feigned ignorance and simply looked at her teacup.

The guests exchanged pleasantries, and everything seemed peaceful. In the blink of an eye, it was time for the wedding ceremony of Shen Qing and Prince Yu.

Shen Qing's head was covered, and she was supported by her maids, Chun Tao and Xue Li. After bowing to the heavens and ancestors, Shen Gui wore an awkward expression. Prince Yu looked at him with a mocking expression. It was indeed an uncomfortable situation for Prince Yu to bow as husband and wife.
