§ CHAPTER NINETY—NINE §
" NIGHT TERRORS "

THE GROUP WENT IN OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS, Eve wandered down the hall, the Doctor stopped at doors as she continued to walk. Gently, she knocked on a door and almost instantly the door swung open. A boy stood there. Not an adult but not a child. A teenager. He found himself looking at her with slight shock.

"Hello!" Eve smiled. "Uh, I'm just doing checks around the neighborhood. You know, to check if there's any trouble around here—"

"Who are you?" The Boy asked.

"Uh, community Support — I'm Eve. It's nice to meet you!"

"It's really, really nice to meet you. Like... amazing!" The Boy rambled, smiling up at her. Eve tilted her head, glancing at her Doctor who stood chatting to an old woman who stood in her door. She glanced back at the brunette boy. "Uhm— Are.. are you American?"

"Uh, yeah. Moved here about a year or two ago." Eve lied, a small smile on her lips. "So, has there been any trouble? Any.. noises? Angry people?"

"No... not that I've heard of." He shook his head yet his smile never left. "Uh, unless you count the land lord... he's quite an angry fellow."

Eve smiled shaking her head. "It was very nice to meet you, mr...?"

"Uh— Stark." He smiled. Eve nodded, the name bringing a small memory of the man she called Tony to her mind. "I'm... Daniel Stark." Eve waved goodbye but she heard the boy shout. "It was nice to meet you, Miss Parker!" The door slammed shut while the brunette woman furrowed her eyebrows.

She froze. The Doctor shivered walking up to her and throwing an arm around her shoulders. "What's up?" He asked, looking down at her.

"He... he knew..." she pointed toward the door which she just walked away from. She shook her head, placing a hand on her forehead before looking up at the Doctor. Slowly, her eyes fell to the floor where Rory and Amy were. The couple walked past a window where a small boy peaked out, a scared look on his face. "Doctor." She pointed.

"Hm?" He turned around, spotting the boy two. "Seems we found our scared little boy." He gently took her hand as they walked side by side to where Amy and Rory would be.

"Hey! Any luck?" Amy called as they all met up in front of the lifts.

"Three old ladies, a traffic warden from Croatia and a man with ten cats." The Doctor explained. Eve glanced behind her, up at the door she met the boy at. He was strange. Too strange. As she continued to stare, the conversation continued without her. She felt sometime touch her arm with a small push.

"—Evie?" The Doctor called, nudging her lightly. "Sweetheart, are you okay?"

"Hm? Oh, yeah, fine." She shrugged. "How about we switch things up? I go with Rory, you go with Amy." She smiled lightly. The Doctor made a slight face of begging, she only raised an eyebrow. "You'll be fine. She won't eat you."

"She might." He whispered, pleading her. Eve only giggled slightly, kissing his left cheek before walking toward the lift with Rory. "Don't mess around, get to the task. Find that boy."

"Yes, ma'am." The Doctor smiled before walking away, Amy not far behind him. Eve turned to look at Rory who just smiled.

"Maybe it was, you know... junk mail." Rory shrugged as he pushed the lift button. Eve hummed, glancing at him. "The message on The psychic paper. Maybe it was just nothing."
