It had been a couple months since that case in New York. Ryan had recovered well from his injuries as well as Hotch, though mentally who knew how he was doing. Emily had taken it upon herself to be Ryan's caretaker, after they got back Ryan took some time off and Emily had slept over for two weeks after to make sure he was okay sleeping and wasn't having any after effects from his concussion.

They had even gone on a case in Ohio where Ryan tried flying for the first time in a while, and even though it still bothered his ears a little bit Ryan was glad to have things go back to normal.

They were currently having dinner at his house with the kids. They'd been doing this a lot recently, after the explosion in New York Emily had been having dinner with them a lot more than usual. Before they usually had dinner most nights whereas now it feels like every night she would come over and have dinner with them. Not that Ryan minded of course.

"Tyler someone tells me that you want to try out for Basketball?" Emily asked the six year old. Tyler nodded excitedly, "Yeah Daddy told me about his days in school and I want to be like him." He informed. "Well I'm sure the gene's will come through in that department." Emma looked up curiously, "Genes?" She asked.

"You'll learn about that when you're older." Ryan said. He didn't exactly know how to explain to a Four year old the Human genome. "And Tyler I'm glad that you're excited to try out for Basketball. But remember if you try it, and don't like it that's fine too." Ryan said.

Emily nodded "You're father's right. Just because he liked doing something when he was your age doesn't mean you will." She said agreeing with Ryan. "I'll like it and I'll be as good as Daddy." Ryan and Emily laughed. "I love you're determination Tyler." Emily said before winking at him and boobed his nose.

"So Emma how's everything going at preschool." Emily said with enthusiasm in her voice for Emma's benefit. Ryan watched in amusement as Emma regaled Emily with activities going on at her preschool. It would be her last year before she would start kindergarten and Ryan was dreading it.

"My friend Jamie says that in Kindergarten, we don't get as much or any nap times as we do in preschool. She says that we have to do more work and not play with toys." Emma said with a little scowl on her baby face.

Emily laughed before nodded, "She's right." "Why can't I just stay at preschool where we can take naps and play with toys." Oh yes why can't they. Ryan thought. Not wanting to think of his daughter growing up and having to go to school.

"It's part of growing up honey. We all have to get an education at some point. But hey it's not that bad you learn a lot of cool things and you become much smarter than you already are." Emily said trying to reassure the four year old. "Smart like you." Emma asked.

Emily's face softened, "Yeah sure somewhat like me though I have a feeling you'll be even smarter." She said while running her hand through Emma's blond hair. Emma laughed at Emily messing with her hair.

The rest of dinner was spent in random discussions from Tyler's day to Emily promising to come see him play. After they got done, they cleaned up the table and while Emily entertained the two children by playing jenga with them, Ryan did the dishes. Emma the little competitor beat both her brother and Emily and gladly bragged to her father about it.

They then went through their usual routine with Putting the kids to bed. Tonight Ryan did story time with Emily did it with Tyler. Ryan came out of Emma's room after 20 minutes while Emily was still in Tyler's room. After 10 minutes, Emily finally came out of his room.
