"I sure could go for some mochi", thought Shizuka as she sat cross-legged on her yoga mat. "When was the last time I had some?" She moved her one leg to the side, twisting it and hooking her foot to her inner elbow. Her hand reached over her head and connected. "Maybe sakura mochi. That was always a good flavor."
Shizuka closed her eyes, focusing on her breath and energy flow, the calming ambience she turned on blocking out the outside world. It proved to be effective, as she was completely unaware of the door being opened.
Akira stepped in just a bit, then stopped when seeing Shizuka in the middle of her physical exercise. He began to slowly step out and quietly close the door, not wanting to interrupt her and risk feeling her wrath. But then he stopped. Seeing his girlfriend doing such intricate poses peaked his interest, so to speak.
He just stood and stared, admiring just how flexible the young woman was. The said woman exhaled deeply, her mind drifting back to the mochi she was just thinking about. In fact, thinking about it was almost meditative in itself.
Akira, still standing in the doorway, found himself leaning slightly forward, captivated by the way Shizuka effortlessly shifted into one pose after the other. Her body moved with such precision and grace, a complete opposite to his energetic and optimistic approach to things. It was that demeanor of hers he admired about her.
Shizuka, unbeknownst to her boyfriend, smirked to herself. "Akira." The young man jumped, freezing like a little kid being caught stealing from a cookie jar. "How long are you going to stand there staring?", his lover asked, looking over her shoulder at him while in an upward dog pose. "I-I wasn't staring", said an embarrassed Akira. Shizuka, maintaining her position, lifted her eyebrow while smirking smugly. "Okay, I was", said Akira, looking away in embarrassment and scratching the back of his head.
"You're... you're pretty flexible." Shizuka chuckled. "Thanks." She relaxed and stood up from the mat. "But I think I'm done for today." "Oh", replied Akira, a hint of guilt in his voice. Shizuka walked over towards him, wrapping her arms around his hips and leaning into him. "Don't feel bad. You're not the reason I'm stopping. Besides, I do this so much I can live on just one minute of it." "That's impressive", said Akira, blushing at the close contact the two of them were sharing. "And I was in the mood for mochi", said Shizuka.
Akira looked up in thought. "Mochi, huh? Wow. When was the last time I had some of that?" "I know, right?", Shizuka said with a laugh. "Wait, that reminds me!", said Akira. He grabbed his girlfriend's shoulders and moved her away from his chest so that they were looking at each other. "We found a candy store not too far from here! That could have a ton of mochi!" "Well lucky us", chuckled Shizuka. "Yeah! We should go now!", exclaimed Akira with his usual enthusiasm. "Now?", asked his girlfriend.
"I know there are like a bunch of zombies walking around, but that's the fun part!", said Akira. "I even put it on my bucket list: do a high stakes heist." Shizuka laughed and pressed her head to her boyfriend's chest, before looking back up at him. "What am I gonna do with you?" The two lovers shared one last chuckle before pressing their lips against each other's for a kiss.
"By the way, did the place have sakura mochi specifically?" "If it isn't, I'll keep looking. I'll even fight through ten hordes of zombies to get it." Shizuka flicks her boyfriend's forehead. "Don't be an idiot." "Then what would find so attractive about me?" "Maybe stay alive long enough and I can have some time to decide." The couple playfully shared another kiss.
"Okay, now... heist?", asked Shizuka, knowing the right word to hype up her man. And it worked. "Heist!", he cheered running out of the room. Shizuka shook her head with a loving smile, and followed Akira out.
