Meetings and Mamas

Today, like most of the days that followed the tea house adventure, was spent with Lily clinging to Victoria, constantly following her around like a lost puppy. Despite Vs best efforts to get some much needed alone time nothing was working, and due to recent snow storms daycare was closed until it was warm enough for students to return. Jane had even tried to help and bribe Lily with her new cat Henry but to no avail. As Lily put it "mommy is better than Henry."

Lily hadn't really bonded with the new cat and it was simply because she preferred Orion, he can do tricks and get her out of trouble and Henry listens to no one.

Right now Victoria was trying to get dressed for a very important business meeting, much to lily's displeasure.

Victorias pov-
"Babygirl please stop fussing, mommy just has to put you down for a little bit and then I promise I'll pick you up again, mommy needs to get dressed for work love." I try to explain but it falls on deaf ears as I place my crying baby down in her playpen and finally get dressed.

After a few grueling minutes I'm finally ready for my meeting and holding Lily again.
"Mommy no go peas?" She asks, it's breaking my heart to leave her but I need to go, I've put it off long enough and Mr.Yoin is not a patient man.
"I'm sorry lovey, why don't you see what Jane is up to right now, I'm sure it's fun!" I try to convince her. It sort of works and she just sadly walks away towards the living room.

Lilys pov-
I really don't like when mommy has to leave, it makes me feel sad and lonely. And me know I have Jane but it's not the same and I don't think Jane wants to be my mama so I NEED mommy. Of course she has a stupid meeting!

I finally find Jane and she's watching tv, it looks like a grown up show so I try to watch it without her seeing me.
That is until I see two people kissing!
"Ewwwy!" I say a little too loud and Jane quickly turns to face me.
"Hey little bug, were you spying on me?" She asks with one lifted eyebrow and an amused look on her face as she changes the show to some cartoons.
I just shake my head 'no' which causes Jane to chuckle and she pats the spot next to her so I quickly move next to her and get comfortable.

"Well then little spy, what would you like to do today hmm?" She asks me sweetly, I think about my answer for a few seconds.
"I wanna be with mommy." I say with a smile. Jane sighs as she gently scoops me into her lap.
"Lily, you know your mommy has work today, and this time she can't do it at home, I promise she'll only be gone for a couple hours." Jane says trying to make me feel better and it does a little bit.
"Otay Janey, maybe we play outside? Pleaseeeeeee???" I ask after changing my mind and deciding building a snowman was more fun.

Jane scrunches her face slightly as she thinks about it but before she can answer mommy comes back downstairs,
"Hello loves, I need to start heading out now, I expect and will get good behavior from the both of you while I'm gone and I'll be home around 5:00pm tonight." Mommy says very matter of factly. I just get up and hug her trying to get her to stay.
"I love you little one, but it's time for mommy to go now baby." Mommy says gently as she hugs me back, then she places a soft kiss on my forehead.
After mommy says goodbye to Jane and I she leaves and I feel so little and sad now.

Jane can sense the sudden change in Lily's mood and she walks over to the little picking her up and places her on her hip.
"Shhhh it's okay bug, I'm still here." Jane coos trying to smooth a now crying Lily.
This causes the cry's to get louder so Jane try's rocking her a little bit but nothing seems to be working.

"Do you want to watch cartoons with me little bug?" Jane asks trying to calm Lily.
"Want mommy" is all Lily can say as she grabs onto Jane tighter.

Jane's pov-
I'm starting to run out of options and I can't seem to calm Lily down.
"What can I do to help little one?" I ask Lily hoping for some help with this mini meltdown.
"Want your milky." She pleads, I pause but only for a moment unaware of what to do.
"But I don't have any milk lovey, do you want some juice?" I say trying to meet her halfway but this only upsets her further. I walk us both upstairs and to her nursery thinking she might just need a nap.

When I try to lay her in her crib Lily clings onto me her cry's never subsiding,
"Okay bug we can both go lay down on my bed, I'm afraid your crib may be too small for the both of us." I say more to myself than to the upset little in my arms.

I get to me and Victorias room and gently lay the both of us under the blankets and onto the soft mattress. Lily wastes no time cuddling up next to me. She has one leg over my legs and an arms tightly wrapped around me with her head placed on my chest. I start to rhythmically pat her bum slowly soothing her and eventually she stops crying and starts drifting to sleep.

"Have a good nap little Lily, we can play after you get up." I whisper to Lily as I turn the tv on knowing the little monster will wake up if I move. But it's almost like she can read my mind because Lily starts to stir and move around, trying to cuddle further into me. Then before I could fully understand what she was doing Lily whispered,
"I wove you mama"

Victorias pov-
I've been in this meeting for 2 hours too long and Mr.Yoin is still no where to be found. I would and can simply leave but I was looking forward to the time away so all I can do is wait.

Fortunately I don't have to wait too much longer as a few minutes later Mr.Yoin walks through the door, this time he's brought somebody along. I recognize her the moment I see her, it's Abby my baby girls old friend. Only she's completely different, right now Abby's crawling next to Mr.Yoin, she's wearing a tight pink dress and has a shiny collar on which is attached to the leash her master is holding. She seems so submissive now, I love it.

I waste no time with introductions and gesture for him to have a seat.
"Sir as you know I'm taking my vacation in a few weeks, with this said I'm going to have to start getting all work done before then. Which means we need to discuss the next step of our partnership and you need to decide if you want that expansion or not. I understand it's a rather big decision but I have multiple people offering much better deals, however your loyalty to me over the years is the reason I have yet to act upon these offers." I explain blankly

Surprisingly my colleague simply pats Abby on the head and she places a briefcase on the table. I know we've made a deal so with that Mr.Yoin and I shake hands and the deal is done. I grab the money and start towards the door but I'm stopped my a familiar voice.
"Victoria, since we have just made another amazing business transaction I was hoping my kitten could ask you a question." Mr.Yoin says motioning towards Abby.

I sigh but nod my head yes ready to get this over with. Abby slowly gets up on her knees and makes eye contact with me for a split second before darting her eyes back towards the floor.
"Miss..I..I..um was wondering.. if maybe.. is Lily okay? Can I see her?" Abby asks hesitantly, clearly fearful of my response.

"I can assure you, your friend is more than okay. I can show you some photos if you'd like but I'm not okay with you two meeting." I say honestly and sternly. I single tear falls down Abby's face but she still agrees.

I spend the next hour showing Abby pictures and videos of Lily and what she's been up to. By the time I'm done I almost feel bad for the girl, but I have my own girls I need to get back to. We all say a short goodbye and part ways.
