Pov: Zahara

I gripped Keith's hand tightly, my nerves jumping as I watched Aztec, standing near Emilia's hospital bed with her two infants. Despite Luna Aylean's presence, Aztec's intimidating pheromones seemed to permeate the room, casting tension and unease. My stomach churned with nervous anticipation as I waited to see how the situation would unfold.

Emilia gulped audibly, her grip tightening instinctively around her sleeping infants. "I am doing fine," she began, her voice wavering slightly. "The arrangements have been quite well. However, the..." She trailed off, her gaze shifting nervously to Aztec, her apprehension palpable in the air. Aztec narrowed his eyes at Emilia, and the she-wolf gulped.

"Emilia, no need to be scared. The big bad wolf has bark but no bite," Luna Aylean reassured with a roll of her eyes, her tone laced with confidence. My eyes widened in shock; Aylean's bold words seemed to hang in the air, daring Aztec to react. I couldn't help but fear the consequences of her blatant remark.

The annoyed tick in Aztec's neck betrayed his growing agitation as he clenched his fists. "That's good," he muttered through gritted teeth, his gaze narrowing on Luna Aylean. "Who do you think you are to talk to me like that?" His voice was low and menacing, laced with a dangerous growl. As his anger intensified, he began releasing enraged alpha pheromones, filling the hospital room with the acrid scent of vinegar and gasoline, creating an atmosphere thick with tension and hostility.

The overwhelming intensity of Aztec's alpha pheromones caused Harper and Hugo to cry out in distress. As infants, their senses were more sensitive, and the potent aroma must have been particularly painful for them. Their cries added to the already tense atmosphere, serving as a poignant reminder of the urgency to resolve the escalating situation.

Luna Aylean's gaze flickered to the crying infants before her, her eyes blazing with determination as she locked onto Aztec. "Turn those pheromones off before I throw you out of this room, and down the stairs," she commanded, her voice dripping with authority. "I don't care if this is your hospital. You are hurting my pack, and I will not allow that. If you wish to speak about your disdain, then do it outside of this room," she spat with a menacing tone that sent a shiver down my spine. Her unwavering resolve filled me with a mixture of fear and admiration.

With determination flickering through her brown eyes, Luna Aylean pointed at the door, her gaze locked onto Aztec's with an intensity that seemed to stretch on for an eternity. It was Aztec who finally broke the eye contact between them, and my eyes widened.

How?

Ma'am, did you forget her rank?

No, but still she's covering it up! How is THE Aztec affected!?

Aztec's teeth gritted in frustration as the potent alpha pheromones gradually faded from the hospital room. "You win this time, Omega," he spat, his tone dripping with resentment and defeat. Despite the tension lingering in the air, there was a sense of victory in Luna Aylean's stance as she stood her ground.

I can't believe she just did that... he backed down so easily.

The strongest alpha in the rankings huh?

Anika, my wolf, gleefully celebrated in my mind as our Luna emerged victorious. Her wagging tail mirrored my own excitement, amplifying the thrill.
