False slowly regained consciousness, feeling groggy, like someone had smashed a rock on her head. Then the back of her head started throbbing painfully and she got the feeling that that was exactly what had happened. She tried to reach up to touch the sore part of her head but found that she couldn't. Looking down told her why. She was sitting in a chair that she was tied to.

False looked around at her surroundings. She was somewhere unfamiliar, although by the fact that the walls, ceiling, and floor were made of pure unrefined rock clued her in to the idea that she was probably somewhere underground.

"You're finally awake." Came an all too familiar voice from behind her. False struggled to turn around to face her but she couldn't. Her bonds didn't give her enough space to do so. "I have been waiting a while for this." The speaker slowly walked around her chair and then came into view. Her clone. The other False.

Right off the bat, though, False knew that something about her was different. Something about her had changed. She couldn't put her finger on it but she knew that she was different now. "What's going on?" False asked, straining against the ropes that held her in place to no avail. The ropes had been tied like no one expected them to ever be untied again, which was honestly incredibly worrying.

"Your trial." The clone said in a cold, dead voice. "My what?" False asked in confusion. "Trial? What trial?" "This trial." False said, and with that she turned False's chair around so she could see the rest of the room.

She was seated at a table atop a wooden platform that looked as if it had just been erected. For some reason there was a gramophone and some music discs on the table. Looking down made False realize that her chair was also sitting directly on top of a trapdoor. But she stopped looking at the trapdoor when she realized who else was seated at the table. Jimena.

False stared at the corpse of the girl sitting across from her. Her eyes were still open, which made her look very creepy. She wasn't wearing the purple clothes that she'd worn to the fight earlier. Instead she was dressed up in Cogsmeade fashion with off-white clothes and copper jewelry.

"What happened to her?" False asked her clone. "I killed her." The other personality suddenly popped up, speaking morosely. "I wasn't trying to. But I did anyway." False didn't know what to say. "I... I'm sorry for your loss," She said, feeling slightly awkward as she bowed her head.

There was no reply. False eventually lifted her head up again and took notice of the other two chairs at the table. Both of which were labelled 'False'. But there were subheadings too: 'me' and 'other me'. The clone approached the table and sat down at the chair labelled 'me'. "I can't really sit in two chairs at once. It's honestly annoying." She remarked.

Hermit False tensed slightly. There was something off about the way she talked. She didn't sound like her usual paranoid self anymore. Killing Jimena... it changed something in her. "Who are you?" False asked her clone. The clone slowly turned to look at her with soulless eyes. "Whatever do you mean?" She asked, tilting her head.

"Who are you?" False repeated. "Who do you think you are? Crazy? Sane? Broken? What kind of person do you think you are?" "Who am I?" False pondered for a second. Then she slowly slipped a knife out of her pocket and stood up. Hermit False tensed for a second, wondering if she was going to get stabbed, but then her clone simply turned around and started scratching something on the back of her chair.

False stepped aside so that hermit False could see the new word that she'd scratched into the wood. "Crazy." False read. "Yes. You asked me who I am. And I am crazy." The clone said, settling back into her seat. She laughed and then switched into her other personality who was smiling oddly.
