Chapter 40

"Hey," I greeted Xavier as I put my training back down.

"Hey," He grinned. "How long are we going to rehearse?"

"I think thirty minutes is fine. I've pretty much got this stupid dance in the bag," I shrugged.

"Good, then I can take you out for a drink," He smiled.

"Sure," I smiled back. "Let me go change and then we can start."

"You acting as if I haven't seen you naked before, fully naked," He laughed.

"Yeah you're right, but I don't think my boyfriend would appreciate me changing in front of other males," I said.

"Boyfriend," He said the word and I could see a little jealousy and disappointment on his face.

"Yeah; I'll be back now," I said picking my bag up and jogging to the studio bathroom.

When I came back, Xavier was shirtless and ready to dance. We did the full dance once without the music and one again with the music before taking a water break.

"You know this reminds me of the old days," Xavier grinned. "The days when you used to dance for me in your room, only in your underwear,"

"Xavier..." I was disturbed by my phone ringing.

"Hey,"

"I'm rehearsing," I said answering Ryan's question.

"Tonight?" I grinned.

"Okay, I love you too, bye," I said and hung up.

"I want you back Skye, but I also want to see you happy and I guess your guy is doing that very well and I respect him for that, even though I wish I was the one who made you grin like an idiot," He said softly.

"You had your chance, and you blew it. But we can always be friends, as cliché as that sounds," I said

"I'd like that," He said. "Come let's do this once more then we can go grab a bite to eat."

"Okay," I smiled as I took my position. I was glad that Xavier wasn't the type to say shit like 'if I can't have you, nobody can' but accepted things the way they were and one thing I loved the most about him. Well, let's say I just hope he was still like that now.

"Okay, let me change then we can go get a drink, "I said as we finished drinking water again after our last run through.

"Okay," He smiled.

Xavier and I had just arrived and placed our orders. While waiting for our drinks he asked, "How is school?"

"You know, very uneventful and boring," I didn't add the part about how I was dating my teacher, who was actually 22, which is not as old as people who assume student teacher dating involved a very stupid 18 year old and a 30 year old teacher.

"So how come you quit dance, you were so good," He asked. "Your principal told me how she had to blackmail you to do this,"

"I didn't quit dance, I love dance. It's just that I didn't really want to have a lot of things to do and I just didn't feel like performing in public with my ex, you know," I shrugged.

"Your boyfriend; is he treating you well or were you putting a show just because I was there?" He asked.

Before I could answer his question, Ryan walked into the shop laughing with Mr Reynolds, one of his teacher friends, who wasn't much older than him, maybe around 26. Our eyes locked for a moment then we both looked away.
