Vanilla : Chapter 95

The house was a little bit awkward that morning, if not awkward then it was just oddly quiet. Everyone was nervous for day one of trialing, It would take up as many days as needed until the jury reached a verdict which scared Sunny, why on earth would it take them more then one day to realize that these assholes need to be locked up for good? On the way there Izzy look out the window and up at the sky the whole ride, as if she was staring at god himself. But something in sunnys mind told her that maybe she actually was, the kids all looked around in shock with big eyes as to how nice the building was and sunny couldn't help but do the same.

"You guys ready to kick ass today?"

They didn't really respond, Aubrey just raised his eyebrows then lowered them while breathing out. He had a ton of fans posted outside of the building, some held posters while most of them cheered on wishing the couple the best of luck. Photos were taken from all different angles of the hopefully soon-to-be-family.

"All rise."

Everyone in the room except the Judge stood from there seats as the murmured tones went to a silence.

"Department One of Superior Court is now in session. Judge Carl presiding. please be seated."

Everyone sat back down. Surprisingly a ton of Sunny and Aubrey's family flew into town for the big event which was surprising, well not necessarily surprising because that was the right thing for them to do. She just wasn't really expecting it

"Good morning ladies and gentlemen. Calling the case of the people of California versus George and Tina Montgomery. Are both sides ready?"

The district attorney rose to there feet, that was Adam - George and Tina's Lawyer -

"Ready for the people, your honor."

he sat back down as he cleared his throat. Aubrey wish he could do that, there had been a lump in his throat since the lawyers called and said to get himself a lawyer because George was taking him to court. He should have expected that though, Kristen rose to her feet next

"Ready for the defense, your honor."

"will the clerk please swear in the Jury?"

Nobody really payed attention to what the clerk was saying, they all knew he was just making the jury swear and promise that there decisions would be based upon the facts and the safety of the kids and not because the person being prosecuted was an old friend. Riley lay his head on Sunnys chest as he sit soundly in her lap, she kissed his forehead and gave Connor and Izzy, who sat on each side of her, a reassuring squeeze on the hand. Once the swearing in was over with Adam stood up and walked over to the bench in which the jury sat quietly,

"Your Honor and ladies and gentlemen of the Jury: The defendant has been charged with kidnap and very physical violence."

Aubrey looked back at sunny, she looked at him and gave him a reassuring smile but it didn't work very well, he was still a nervous wreck.

"On June 15th, Mr. Graham went over to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Montgomery, Although he had permission to come in he did not have permission to speak to the boys and he did not have permission to take them. On his way out of taking the kids he beat Mr. Montgomery and shoved Mrs. Montgomery. The evidence i bring you will prove the defendant is guilty as charged."

With that he turned on his heels and returned back to his spot in between George and Tina. Aubrey had to admit he did it in for George, he had a nasty bruise under his eye and his lip was busted pretty bad, but damn the guys deserved that and then some. Kristen put a hand on Aubrey's shoulder before standing and walking up before the Jury
