Kristen took a deep breath, this was it. After she stated her closing argument they would go to lunch break, after lunch the jury would state there verdict and well....what happened after that is what would change all of there lives forever. For the good...or god forbid but for the worst. She stood up and ran a hand over the skirt of her dress before going and standing in front of the grand jury, the sound of her heels clicking was the only sound in the room, when she stopped moving you could hear a pin drop. The tension was thick and everybody was on edge today

"Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury.....these past three days have been..tiring. So much work was put into this case and im trying my hardest at this very moment to win over your votes once again. The InnsBrook kids are great, intelligent, loving kids who need a good home...that good home is with Mr. and Mrs. Graham and you all know for a fact if they go back with Mr. and Mrs. Montgomery things will not sit well. I agree 100% that using physical force was not the answer but we can all see why he did that, we all understand that he was just protecting the kids. After broken bones, cuts, bruises, mental and physical abuse these kids finally have what they need, why take that from them? I also think we can agree that George is the more physical one, while Tina is more mental. Yelling at them and calling them names, while George beats the hell out of them, for no reason. They can not go back to that, i simply refuse to let it happen, so if we don't win this i expect to see you all here again tomorrow and the next day and the day after that. As long as it takes to get these kids where they need, im willing to do an unconditional amount of work to see them truly, genuinely happy."

She turned to look at Izzy, Connor and Riley and smile happily because she knew that she had one after she made her opening statement, it was simple. The Jury shouldn't have to think about if George and Tina should be locked up, it was a god given fact that they deserved it and so much more. But it wasn't up to anybody but the grand jury and sometimes they threw curve balls

"Izzy..Connor..Riley, i love you guys so much and i haven't even known you a whole month. No matter what happens today i just want you to know we are going to help you, your family now and i think im speaking for everyone when i say i love you guys very much."

The kids all smiled as Kristen turned back on her heels and tapped on the edge of the Jury bench

"thank you for your time."

With that she turned and walked back to the table, mentally giving herself a pat on the back. Lunch was brief, nobody really ate much because they were on edge as to what was going to happen when they got back into the court room. The tension was thick and everyone seemed to be standing on eggshells, sunny grabbed Aubrey's hand and took in a deep breath

"Aubs.."

"yeah..."

"i love you."

He smiled small, as nervous as he was and how little that helped calm it, he still loved hearing it. He leaned down and kissed her for a few seconds. Longer then expected because he was scared that it may be one of the last kisses they share because there was still a 50% chance he could go to jail. The judge entered the room and banged his gavel, silencing the low talking voices

"Will the foreperson please stand? Has the jury reached an unanimous verdict?"

"yes."

The clerk rose to her feet before heel clicking her way over to the Jury's bench, she took the paper and unfolded it slowly. Here it was, the moment all hell broke lose either way. Every bodies hearts pounded hard as they awaited the results of what was about to happen, they knew what to expect but at the same time they didn't and it kind of killed them inside to wait

"The jury finds the defendant (Aubrey)......not guilty your honor."

They knew they weren't supposed to, but they couldn't help it. They all screamed out in happiness because they won, they won the kids, they won justice, Aubrey wouldn't go to jail and everything would be happy. Sunny wrapped her arms around the kids and hugged them in a motherly way because as of this moment she was there mother, she got to adopt them and rescue them. She was compatible and that's all that mattered. Her life had changed drastically, it wasn't vanilla any longer and she had no issues with that, she loved sprinkles now. She loved the feel of it, she loved Aubrey, she loved the kids, she loved how she was living and that's all that mattered. The only other thing that mattered at this moment was the fact that they were so busy celebrating and being happy that they didn't notice George's very angry brother pull out a gun

and point it straight at Aubrey.

The end.
