The Runaway

Chapter 5:Greeted by the Demon

"Oh shit! Can you seriously get a life?" Gray groaned.

"I already have a life. So shut up, I'm enjoying my time here." He hissed. The trio sweat dropped at him.

Loke's gaze went directly to the entrance of the cafeteria and  smirked. He nudge Sting and whipped his head to the entrance. The trio followed and saw the pinkette along with the blonde. The atmosphere around them darkened and the students who were nearby started to part. 

"What exactly was his deal?" Natsu ranted as they passed by them. Natsu was completely oblivious of the situation but Lucy tried to distance herself away from trouble.

"I don't k-know.." she stuttered. Natsu stared at her with worry but tried to shrugged it off, leaving her in her privacy.

Natsu didn't actually buy too many, considering that he already lost his appettite. When they passed by the table again, in the last second, Gray stuck his leg out and Natsu being busy, tripped. Everyone started to laugh but it suddenly got quiet the second they felt a very dangerous and dark aura spreading, they stared and paled.

"You alright?" she ask, she turned to the other person and she stared in horror. "E-e-e-e-Erza!" she exclaimed, Gray quickly averted his gaze and pretend nothing happened. "Erza. It was only an accident. Natsu didn't mean it! " she continued to beg and whined but the redhead just stared at the floor.

"My....strawberry....cake" she murmured. "My strawberry cake.." 

"Oh no. Not her cake," Everyone murmured and whispered. Erza gave them a menacing glare and Natsu automatically hid behind Lucy, the four guys on the table, started to sweat buckets.  Natsu was about to apologized but a smell, he was all too familiar with, engulf his nose.

"What's goin' here?" A male voice  demanded. Everyone in the whole cafeteria stood up and bowed then resumed back. Natsu paled and Lucy noticed his uneasiness.

"Natsu, what's wrong?" she ask, but he remained silent, Rogue had the courtesy to look up and sidelook him, sure enough he was pale but not in fear for Erza. Natsu took a step back in brace for himself. "Natsu?" Lucy called again.

"Natsu?" the guy repeated. His eyes widen in realization, Natsu took another step back and ran out. "Natsu!" he called again, with intention to capture his attention. "Shit!" he cursed, everyone was shock, he was a role model. Never have they heard him curse. "Erza calm down, I'll be back. Meteor!" he ordered before running after Natsu.

"Erza. I'll buy you a new cake as an apology." Lucy offered. Of course, who was Erza to refuse?

Meanwhile~

"I didn't know he was here!" he whispered to himself while running. The smell was getting closer, he scanned the halls, it was empty. He sighed and eventually stopped running. Natsu knew it will be pointless, so he might as well take the liberty to talk to this guy. Not long later, the other had caught up.

"Why didn't you tell us anything about moving?!" he yelled.

"Haven't seen you in 5 years and this is your first greeting?" Natsu snickered.

"Natsu!" he scolded. But his eyes soften. "You know, Wendy misses you," he softly stated.

"Yeah, I know. Dad had to lie to her in order to cover for me," he muttered and avoided his gaze. Jellal attempted to step forward but realize that, that will only make Natsu run again.

"I barely recognize you. Your hair grew longer," he noticed and smiled softly and Natsu smiled back. Nostalgia and familiarity hit them both. He began to twirl a strand of hair between his fingers.
