It was a cold and rainy day in Kansas.Honestly, my favorite weather. I sat in a diner, reading a randombook I had found abandoned. I had no idea why I was reading it, but Ijust felt like it. Plus, it was a funny book. I had ordered some tea,and a muffin, and was currently, laying on the booth, with my headhanging upside down, while I read.

I giggled at a funny part, and flippedthe page, continuing to read. It was pretty empty here, which Ididn't mind at all. I heard the door open, and someone walk inside. Ipayed no attention, and kept engrossing myself in the book I read. The person ordered their food, and I heard their footsteps on theground, and the squeak of their shoes on the wooden floor.

Soon, they stopped, and I heardchuckling. I stopped reading, and looked up to see a man looking downat my awkward position, and smiling. "Do ya mind if I join you?"He asked, in a deep southern drawl. "Not at all, please sit," Isaid, and smiled. He took a seat on the booth across from me, and Idecided to sit up. "Sorry. I just feel the need to try newpositions sometimes," I explained, smiling at him.

The man laughed, and took a very smallsip of his tea. "I guess yer right," He spoke. This was when Itook the time to analyze this man. I instantly recognized him as avampire, since I noticed the fangs poking out of his mouth, but Iplayed it cool. His hair was slightly damp from the rain, and hisblue eyes sparkled as he watched me.

That was when he noticed what I wasreading. His eyes widened, and a smile crossed his rugged features."So that's where my book went" He chuckled. I pursed my lips."Your book?" I asked. "Yep. I probably left it here after myshift," The man noted. "So you work here," I concluded. "Ido," The man spoke. I nodded and looked at the book noticing a nameat the bottom. "Benny?" I asked.

"That's me," He confirmed."Really? Then why does your name tag say Roy?" I challenged. Theman's face dropped. "It's...A long story," He mumbled. "That'snice. Oh! How rude of me! I haven't even introduced myself! Thename's Y/N," I said, disregarding the fact this Vamp wanted to goundercover.

He raised a brow, but made a hm sound."Pleasure to meet ya. I'm Benny Laffite," He spoke. "So Roy'sthe fake name?" I concluded. Benny sighed, and narrowed his eyes atme. "Yer an observant one ya know that?" He pointed out. Ihummed, and nodded. "That's true. Also how I know you're a vampire. One that want's to have a normal life which is why you used the fakename Roy,"

Benny's eyes widened significantly."Are you a hunter?" He asked quietly. "Nah. Not really. Morelike an...Educated citizen," I spoke, and smirked. Benny kepteyeing me warily. "I'm not gonna hurt you Benny," I said. "I'dbe more worried about you hurting me if I was actually scared," Iconfessed, with a slight chuckle.

Benny gave a hum of amusement."Alright.." He said warily. I rolled my eyes. "Ya know you'rekinda cute," I smiled, and winked. Benny gave me a smirk. "Oh sonow ya hit on me," I chuckled. "S'how I roll," I joked. "Whatdo ya saw we go out for a drink some time huh?" I asked. Bennypaused for a moment.

"Youare the most interesting person I've evermet,"He said. I grinned, and stood, placing a tip on the table. "Wellhopefully you haven't seen the last of me," Ismirked, and wrote down my number on Benny's arm. "Don't loose thatsweet cheeks," I winked again. Benny gave a chuckle. "I won't,"He said, and grabbed my stuff, waved, then walked off. Who knew I'dmet a hot vampire today.
