"Bren," I groaned "why can't I come with you?"

"(Y/N), we've discussed this multiple times. You have to focus on your school, I have to focus on my game. I don't want you missing a couple days just to be with me at my game. You can always watch it on TV..." he replied, running a hand through his hair.

I huffed in frustration and walked over to his bag, pulling out the 'Gallagher' hoodie he planned to take with him. I caught the smile he sent my way and I rolled my eyes, walking out of the room.

"(Y/N), you know I'd love for you to go-"

"Yeah, Brendan, I know," I said, falling back on the couch.

I heard his footsteps shuffling across our carpeted floor and before I knew it, he flipped over the back of the couch and right onto me.

"Brendan," I wheezed out "get off of me,"

I struggled to push him off me and finally gave up, letting him put most of his weight on me. He rested his head on my shoulder, feathering light kisses up and down my neck. I giggled and tangled my fingers lightly in his hair.

"I'm gonna miss you," he cooed in my ear.

"I'll miss you, too," I whispered back.

"I promise I won't be gone long. It's two days there and then we fly back as soon as the game is over," his hand came up to my hair, twirling a strand around his fingers.

"I know, but you're just so far away,"

He kissed my jawline and cuddled closer to me. Continuous 'I love you's' flowed out of his mouth, the only sound filling the room. Our dog, Vader, was up on the opposite couch, asleep. His soft snores were ignored by the two of us just relishing in our time together.

I didn't think it would be this hard. It was only a couple days, but this was the first time he would leave me since we started dating. I wasn't used to being alone in the house.

"It's going to be weird being alone," I spoke.

Vader's ears perked up, his eyes opened, and he whined quietly.

Brendan and I laughed.

"Vade will keep you company,"

It got quiet again. I started thinking of different scenarios that could happen while he was away. He was a hockey player after all. Girls loved hockey players.

Brendan wouldn't do that. What are you thinking? I ran my fingers through my hair out of nervousness. He saw and caught my hand in his.

"Hey," his voice was soft "why are you nervous? What's going on?"

"I-just-I-I... I don't know. Just girlfriend things, I guess. It's stupid," I shook my head.

"It's not stupid. I would be the same way if it was you leaving. You know I love you, right?"

I nodded without hesitation.

"Then you have nothing to worry about. You're the first girl I have ever loved. The girl I'll always love," he kissed me softly.

"No," I hid my face behind my hands "you can't do that. You can't go all Teen Wolf on me,"

"Sorry," he laughed, breathlessly.

He moved his face down onto my chest, leaving a kiss that made my face burn bright red.

**********************************

I heard the faint sound of the alarm going off and bolted upright. It woke Brendan as well since he was fast asleep next to me. My eyes finally focused and I saw we were still on the couch. The clock in the living room showed 5:30am.

"Brendan, you're going to be late for your flight!" I rushed out, standing up and running into the bedroom.

He came speeding in as well, picking up his bag, putting on a pair of Vans and running out the front door, not even caring about his attire, a tight, dark blue Under Armour shirt and a pair of grey joggers.

I followed behind him, trying to slip my sneakers on without falling over. I fixed my hoodie and jogging shorts as I closed the door behind me, yelling to Vader that I'd be back later. I went out to the car where Brendan already sat, the radio blaring Back in Black.

As soon as I shut the door, Brendan pulled out of the driveway. It was still fairly dark, the faint outline of light in the distance.

Neither of us talked the whole way there, but it didn't bother me.

When we got there, I was only allowed to stay with Brendan for the first couple gates before we had to say our farewells.

"I love you, pretty girl," he mumbled into my hair.

"I love you, too, handsome," I smiled into his shirt.

We got weird looks from some people, but others smiled and 'aw'd' at the sight of us. We were in the middle of the airport, hugging each other so close, some would think it was our last time seeing each other.

"I have to go. I'll see you on Wednesday, alright?" he took my face in his hands and kissed me once more, waving to me as he started towards the metal detector.

"See you on Wednesday,"
