Poke.

"(Y/N),"

Poke.

"(Y/N)..."

Poke.

I groaned. "What do you want?"

The blankets were pulled off of me and I whined childishly as the cold hit my body. An arm wrapped around my waist, lifting me into a sitting position. I sat with my legs criss-cross and balled my fists up to my eyes, wiping the sleep away.

When I opened them fully, Alex was sitting right in front of me. I raised an eyebrow at him, silently asking him to explain why in the hell he woke me up at... 5:30 a.m.

"What is so important that you had to wake me up at this unearthly hour?" I scowled.

"Come on. It's easier for me to show you," he got up from the bed and held out a hand.

I reluctantly scooted to the corner of the bed and held my arms out. He chuckled and turned around, crouching beside the bed. I wrapped my arms around his neck, his hands sliding under my thighs. He lifted me off the bed and I tightened my hold on him.

He walked us out to the porch and set me down. The sight before me made my eyes widen. The sun peaked out from above the water, the beautiful, blue, orange, and yellow colors of the sky making me gasp.

"I wanted to show you sunrises in Montreal. It's beautiful isn't it?" his deep, still somewhat sleepy voice, sent chills down my spine.

I nodded slowly. "It's... stunning. It's absolutely breathtaking."

He wrapped his arms around my waist from behind and rested his head on my shoulder, kissing my neck. "You're more beautiful, though,"

"That's the most cheesy thing you could have said," I laughed and turned my head towards him.

"Well, it's about to get a lot more cheesy because I have a surprise for you," he kissed me right at the corner of my lips then turned and ran into the house.

Rolling my eyes, I trudged back inside, stopping next to the bed and putting on my slippers. I made my way down to the living room where a gigantic tan teddy bear sat with a heart-shaped box of chocolate with "Happy Valentine's Day" in his lap. I giggled at his gift and walked over next to the bear, sitting down in front of it and taking the box of chocolate from it.

"Do you like it?" Alex asked from behind me.

I got up and he walked over to me with a bouquet of roses. I practically melted at the cuteness of it all. I stood up on the tips of my toes and kissed him quickly.

"(Y/N)," Alex started "the first time I saw you, you took my breath away. I was so embarrassed when I went up to you because I thought that I would totally screw up what I had planned to say to you. Your beautiful smile made my knees go weak when I stood in front of you. To this day, I'm still surprised that you said yes to that date. Asking you on a date was the best decision I've ever made. I just want you to know that I love you with everything I have... I'm not asking you to marry me, but I am asking you to promise me something. Promise me that we'll always be together because, without you... I don't know what I'd do,"

"Alex, you know I will always be with you. I promise I will stay by your side. Forever and always," I breathed.

He smiled and threw the flowers on the couch, grabbing my hips in his large hands and pressing our lips together.

"Happy Valentine's Day,"
