"I don't want you two anywhere near each other! Ever! If I catch you two together-"

"You'll what?" I snapped at my father. "You're gonna do what? I'm 18. There's nothing you can do except kick me out. Even then, I'll just go live with Mitch."

"Honey, please. He lives thousands of miles away from us. How do you know he doesn't already have a girlfriend? Even if he tells you he doesn't, you wouldn't know. We're just doing this because we love you and don't want you to get hurt," my mom defends.

"Bullshit. You don't have any reason to keep Mitch and I apart. We've been best friends since we were two, mom. Why are you trying to keep us apart?" my voice cracked as tears formed in my eyes.

"(Y/N/N), no," my mom cooed "we just... we don't want you to end up heart-broken."

"You're breaking my heart," I chuckled "I love him, okay? I know you think it's some stupid teenage thing. I know you think low of him because he's a hockey player- which doesn't make any sense because we've practically been conjoined at the hip for sixteen years- but he means the absolute world to me. If you really wanted me to be happy, you wouldn't be making me stay away from him. Don't either of you understand how important he is to me? Do you really think I would go through this much trouble to stay with some guy who doesn't give a damn about me?"

My parents looked at each other and sighed, shaking their heads. I grunted and walked upstairs, wiping the fallen tears and muttering curse words along the way. When I got to my room, I made a deal about slamming my door shut. I sat myself down at my desk, opening my computer and starting a Skype with Mitch. He answered a couple seconds later. I laughed.

"Don't laugh at me. I just got out of the shower," he groaned, patting down his messy, wet hair.

"Sorry, you just look adorable," I teased.

He rolled his eyes. "So what'd you parents say about you coming to visit me?"

"They have me a whole lecture about how they wouldn't let us date because of the distance and how you were no good for me, yada yada yada," I waved my hand around, scrunching my nose in annoyance "what about yours?"

He sighed and laughed lightly, running a hand through his hair. "Basically the same thing as yours,"

"I don't understand why they can't even let us try it. We've been dating since freshman year! You'd think they'd trust us enough to at least try it. I know it's because I moved away, but still. I even asked to go up and live with my grandma, but that didn't satisfy them either. It's not like I'm going to live with them forever! I'll be going to college next year, too and- ugh," I threw my hands up "they're just ridiculous,"

Mitch just sat, smiling at the camera.

"What, you dork?" I asked.

"You're cute when you're flustered," he says, setting his computer down to grab a shirt.

"Aw, come on! That was the best part!"

"Ha-ha, very funny," he spoke in monotone.

I giggled. "Thank you. I know,"

"You're weird," he states.

"But you love me," I stuck my tongue out at him.

"Yeah, I do love you. A lot," he grinned "I can see you blushing through the screen!"

"I love you, too,"

"I want you to know that no matter what our parents say... I won't give up on us. One, because I know that you're the one for me. I've never felt the same way about anyone else that I do with you. And two, there is no way I'm going to have my parents think they were right," he laughed. "Oh, and I have a question for you,"

"Shoot," I nodded.

"If we get things all settled," he hesitated "would you think about moving in with me?"

My eyes widened. I went to talk, but the squeak of my door interrupted me. I sighed and turned in my chair towards the entrance. My mom crept into my room, shutting the door quietly.

"Hi Mitch," my mom waved at him as she sat down behind me on my bed. "I just wanted to come in here and talk to the two of you about all of our decisions. We love the idea of you two being together, we've been planning that since you were young, please know that... but you two would just be so far away from each other all the time. (Y/N) would be far away from me and her dad. Mitch, you would be far from her when you get into the NHL and start traveling... I just think it would be so hard for the two of you,"

"Mrs. (L/N), I can't stress enough that I will do everything in my power to get you to agree to letting her here with me. Not just to visit, but to have her here with me- you know- living with me," he bit his lip and waited for her response.

She turned to me. "Do you really want to?"

I nodded, vigorously. "I've never been so sure about something,"

"Okay," she sighed "if you two are sure about it. I'll allow it. By the way, Mitch, I got off the phone with your parents a couple minutes ago. They said that as long as you paid for things, they would let it happen,"

Mitch's jaw dropped and he sprung out of bed. I heard his door hit the wall through my speakers.

I flipped around towards my mom, a big smile on my face. "Are you serious? You're seriously agreeing to this,"

"Yes, I am agreeing to it," she laughed. "I'll miss my baby girl more than anything, but you're technically an adult now. Getting that through your dad's head is another story, but I'll get him to be okay with it,"

"Thank you, momma. Thank you so, so, so much," I jumped out of the chair, flinging my arms around her neck, practically landing on her.

"Okay, okay honey. You're not small enough to fit on my lap anymore," she laughed, hugging my tightly. "I'll help you start packing tomorrow, okay?"

I nodded, kissing her cheek. "I loooovvveee you,"

She laughed, shaking her head. "I love you, too. Now, don't stay up too late. We have things to do tomorrow,"

My cheeks started hurting from the grin that had plastered itself onto my face. I sat back on the chair, flipping around to see Mitch laying in front of the screen again.

"I can't believe that we're actually going to live with each other,"
