CHAPTER 18

DENISE'S POV

 Beep. Beep. Beeep. Beep.

What the hell, I'm about to curse my phone for ruining my dreams. Wait. It wasn't my alarm tone, it was my ringing tone. Worse.

"Hello?" I feel my voice a little groggy this morning.

I slept late last night, oh wait, I guess umaga na nga yun eh. I was invited to join the team dinner last night since we are the Champs. I was about to say no since it's getting late pero pinagpaalam na rin ako ni Captain sa team and sa parents ko. How does he do that? Please everyone with just one call? Lucky me. So, I didn't have a choice, eh libre naman, so go.

I tried to open my eyes slowly, and the light was so excruciating. By the way, who's gonna call me early this morning.

"Hello, beautiful. Sorry to wake you up, but I guess you're late for class." It was Captain. My eyes suddenly opened wide and I quickly sat down my bed with that smile on my face.

"What made you call this early?" I teased.

"You're not listening, I said you're late for class." He said.

I can feel he smirked on the other end of the line. I glanced up my clock, and it's already 8:30. And my class starts at 9. Oh shit.

"Great. Mas malelate ako dito if you'll hang up." I said, smiling.

"I can manage. Even though you'll just leave the line open, your presence in the other line will make me happy." He replied.

"Captain, your sweetness is too much for my morning running late for class, so I guess I'll see you later?" I told him with my big grin.

"Nope, I'll see you when you get down. I'm taking you to school, so hurry up, because I'm missing you."

I can't hide my smiles while he hung up the phone. I guess malelate pa talaga ako lalo nito dahil sa mga kakiligan ni captain. I quickly ran off my bed and took a shower. Brushed my teeth, dressed. And wall-uh! I'm set to go! I had a quick glance at the mirror to see if I look decent today... Or should I say decent to Captain's eyes? If he ever know I'm doubting myself, I'm sure sermon abot ko sakanya. Okay, let's do this.

"Late ka na." Mom told me.

"I know Ma, wag nang ipagdiinan sa'kin." I answered.

"Goodmorning." Captain said. At totoo nga, he's waiting downstairs.

 "Morning." I smiled.

 "Kumain ka muna." Mom said.

"No thanks, late na talaga ko, bye ma." I ran up the door and I noticed Captain ran behind me.

"Bat di ka muna kumain?" He asked when we're finally outside.

"Late na nga, kakain pa?" I answered.

"Okay, okay, ang sungit, too adorable." He said while lifting my chin up to meet his eyes and he kissed my nose.

"Lika na, nang di ka na malate." He added while he opened the door for me.

The little things that Captain does for me makes me fall in love with him all over again.

Captain took me to school today. Wala ba siyang class? Palibhasa once a week lang ang pasok plus OJT lang, plus the basketball stardom. How the hell does he survive with that. Na-late nga ako as expected, but the prof didn't matter. Glad with that, because when I sat in my chair my friends were looking at me when I came.
