CHAPTER 33:

DENISE'S POV

"Hatid na kita sa inyo." Kiefer said.

I just stayed quiet whenever he talks to me. Ewan ko, parang pagod na pagod na ako na hindi ko maintindihan. No words can't express how exhausting this day is. We entered the car and he started driving. He decided to turn on the radio to ease the environment.

"Look, I'm sorry. Hindi ka dapat nadamay dito." He started talking.

I sighed, "Hindi talaga. First of all, this isn't my problem, second, I'm just being a friend tapos ganito pa ang tingin sakin? I wish Captain can fly right now."

I looked out the window only to find put that my vision seems blurry. Ano to, mabilis lang ba magdrive at ganyan na kalabo? But I realized this wasn't about the motion, but these were tears forming in my eyes. Tears of hurt. Tears of helplessness.

I don't know what to do. I don't know whom I can lean onto right now. I feel so alone that no one might understand my sentiment.

It was a quick ride to our house. Maybe I was so preoccupied with my thoughts that I wasn't paying attention during yhe travel. I grabbed my bag and before he could open up my door, I stepped outside of his car.

"Thanks, Kief. I think I should rest. Ingat ka." I bid goodbye and started walking towards our house.

It was a bit late so everyone's probably asleep by this time. I'm planning to call up Captain but I'm just too not myself today. Para bang everything impossible happened today. To the point everything's just not falling to plan. I tried to recap what happened today. It was just a disaster.

Kiefer.

Alex.

Thomas.

Captain's not here.

I realized I just decided to leave it all tomorrow and fall asleep to dreamland. Better tomorrow, please.

I woke up to the smell of bacon and eggs downstairs. Well, it wasn't a bad life after all? Okay.

Motto for today: Leave the past behind me and start a better day.

Walang makakasira ng araw ko ngayon. Sana. Don't jinx it. Anyway, I ran down to find out my mom's cooking for me.

"Goodmorning Ma!" I hugged her tight.

"Morning! Late ka na kagabi ah?" She told me.

"Uh, yeah. Sorry. But let's not talk about yesterday. Motto ko yun ngayon. Please cooperate, Ma." I said as I ate one piece of bacon.

"Alright. But one cannot live in the present without knowing the past, dear."

"I know. But don't I deserve a better day than yesterday?"

"You do. Just don't escape the reality that yesterday's still part of today."

"Fineeeeeee. I'll still stick for a better today." I smiled.

"By the way, your dad's asking you to drop by some papers to his office today. Before noon."

"Huh? Bakit?"

"He left it."

"Seriously, Ma? I'll go to Makati pa?" I made some face and ate another bacon.

"Pero pag Parañaque, wala kang reklamo?" She said.

"Sabi ko nga. Pupunta nga kong Makati diba? Ang saya ko, pupunta akong Makati." I said sarcastically.

"You better hurry. It's almost 10:30."
