Chapter 21: If only

Alex's POV

“Wait lang. I just need to answer this. Si Coach ‘to eh.” Then he distanced himself again. Ano bay an, eto na eh. Handa na ako sa sagot ko eh. Huhu.

“Uhm.” Kiefer said while walking towards me. His face looks worried. “Uh, kasi…” he started

“You have to leave now because of duties. It’s okay, I understand.” I interrupted him.

“How’d you know?” he asked

“It has been the excuse.” I fake smiled

“Alex, I’m so sorry.”

“Go home safe okay.” I move closer to him and hugged him, then walk towards the other side.

I walked towards P. Noval court, I don’t know where to go anymore, but I found myself looking for Aljon. My eyes were searching for him. Pero hindi ko pa rin siya mahanap. I found an empty seat, and rested my legs for awhile. Thoughts were running in my mind. Gulong-gulo na ako ngayon. Hindi ako alam kung tama ba yung desisyon ko na piliin si Kiefer over Aljon. Yes, totoo mas mahal ko si Kiefer at mas marami na kaming pinagdaanan, pero palagi nalang ba kaming ganito? Palagi nalang ba ako ang iintindi. But Aljon, he is always there for me. Hayy, I took a deep breathe, I just don’t know what to do anymore.

 Aljon's POV

Pinatawag ang team namin para sa acknowledgement sa stage. Ayaw ko sana iwan si Alex, but I have to.

"Ano na naman ginagawa mo bro?" Kim asked me while we are going up the stage.

"Umaakyat ng stage." Then I chuckled. Kim looked at me with a raised eyebrow

"Bro, lalong nawawala mata mo," I laughed. "Tara na, alam ko ginagawa ko." then I tapped his head.

We were up the stage and I saw how many attended the Paskuhan. Sobrang dami. Wow. 

"Dami pumunta ngayon. Nahiya tuloy ako."  Teng said habang tinatakpan niya yung mukha niya.

"Wala ka namang ganun eh." Ferrer laughed

The host talked to us, especially to Fort. All eyes were on us, but my eyes were searching for Alex. I know this is stupid but I just can't distance myself to her, but I know I have to. We went down the stage and the fans were there waiting for us. I don't know what will I say if they approach me kasi gusto ko nang hanapin si Alex. 

"Bro, if this is about Alex again, get over it." Captain said while tapping my back.

"Masakit pre eh." 

"True love hurts. Sige na, alam ko namang hinahanap mo siya eh." Fort said. He pushed me away from the people there, my eyes met Denise and she nod at me but she look worried.

I walked briskly para mahanap siya, pero hindi ko rin naman matanggihan ang mga taong gusto magpapicture. Kaya sige lang.    Naipit ako dun sa may malapit sa court ng P. Noval.

"Aljon, papicture." 

"Idol, picture please."

"Mariano, papic naman."

"Pwede pong magpapicture."

I just nodded and smile, and paglingon ko sa kanan ko, parang naanigan ko si Alex but I'm not sure kung siya yun kaya I kept on peeking on that girl. After all the fans na gustong magpapicture sakin, I headed to her direction and confirmed, it was Alex. Nakayuko lang siya when I saw her. "Kanina pa kita hinahanap ah." I said. She looked at my direction and her face looked sad.

 "Bawal malungkot sa Paskuhan. Tara na. Punta na tayong Prime." I offered my hand and she held it. Magkahawak ang kamay namin hanggang makarating kami ng dorm ni Fort, dun kasi ako nakipark. I felt happy even though I know she is not mine. Ayoko na nga makarating sa dorm eh. Hahaha.
