Days passed by so quickly that I never thought Jake's birthday is also approaching. And gosh, I still have no gift to give him.
Should I just give him myself?
Eww. What are you thinking? Ugh.
Nasa mall tuloy ako ngayon habang nagsstroll at nagwiwindow shopping dahil baka may makita akong matipuhan kong iregalo kay Jake. I just realized now that tomorrow will already be Jake's birthday and I want to present something so I'm here strolling in the mall while searching for his gift.
I know it's a little bit late already but I've been so busy these past few days too. Medyo nalalapit na rin kasi ang Prelims namin kaya puspusan din sa pagbibigay ng activities ang mga Professors namin.
And back to searching for Jake's gift, I don't know anything he likes. Or anything he wants and needs so I also don't know what to give him. Ugh, I never thought this could be so frustrating. Bakit ba naman kasi ang hirap regaluhan ng mga lalaki?
But on second thought, I realized that it's not that hard to give them a present. Kahit naman kasi ano, tatanggapin nila. Wala rin naman silang arte sa katawan kaya okay lang kahit ano.
Finally, after minutes of strolling, I stopped infront of a jewelry shop because something caught my attention. I stared at it from the window and it's really beautiful. Kumikinang iyon sa mga mata ko na parang tinatawag ako para bilhin siya.
Papasok na sana ako sa loob ng jewelry shop na 'yon nang may humarang na lalaki sa'kin. He's quite tall so I still needed to raise my head to look at him.
And to my surprise, it was Raymond.
The fuck's he doing here?
Hindi ako nagpakita ng emosyon at nanatili lang akong nakatitig sa kaniya at ngumiti naman siya na parang siraulo.
"Hi," he greeted playfully.
"What?" lumayo ako ng kaunti sa kaniya para may distansiya pa rin kami.
"I heard Jake's birthday will be tomorrow."
"Yes, and?" walang interes kong tanong.
Although, I don't know how he got that information. Close ba sila? Sa pagkakaalala ko eh kulang na lang magbugbugan sila sa harap ng isa't-isa dahil sa talim ng mga titig nila.
He smirked and got something from his bag. Isang box. Inabot niya 'yun sa'kin.
"I want to give him that personally but I like it more if you'll just be the one to bring it to him since I bumped into you."
"Ano 'to? Bomba?" napangisi ako at hindi agad tinanggap ang box.
It's so plain because there are no prints, just plain white. And it's sealed with tapes.
He laughed and shooked his head in disbelief. "That's my present for him. And, don't open it. Gusto ko siya ang magbubukas."
"Of course not. As if I'm interested…" well, I am.
Tinanggap ko na lang ang box at hindi siya mabigat. It's lightweight so I doubt it's a bomb.
Nang iangat ko ulit ang tingin sa kaniya, nakangiti na siya. "Thanks, Kyla. And have a fun party tomorrow."
He walked away and I just looked at him with my weird stares. Sinundan siya ng paningin ko hanggang makababa siya sa elevator.
That's weird.
I mean, why would Raymond waste his time to give a present to Jake?
Something's not really right here but I just shrugged it off. Maybe I'm just paranoid.
