Chapter 30: Competition

Thankfully, we didn't stay like that for two freaking hours. I was saved by the bell, yey!

The organizer approached our room and oriented us. Kaya umayos na rin ako ng upo para makapakinig ng maayos sa kaniya. Charlie sat properly as well dahil binibigyan na kami ng malisyosong ngiti ni Coach Reina.

At hindi naman kami pinakialaman ng ibang members. Totoo nga siguro talaga ang sinabi ni Cat sa'kin before that they really respect each other's privacy. Coach Reina just gave us malicious stares but she didn't asked anything.

Eh, wala rin naman talagang namamagitan sa'min... kung sakali mang may magtatanong. Wala ring may alam na engaged na si Charlie kay Kyla. They don't take it seriously, anyway, so it's not necessary for anyone to know.

Or I'm wrong about that?

Seems like Kyla is the only one who don't take their engagement seriously.

After the short briefing of the organizer, she left us in the waiting room. Only thirty minutes left and the competition is about to start. We are asked to stay here until they will call us out.

But Charlie left the room, leaving his seat empty.

"Are you there already?" tanong niya sa kausap sa phone.

He opened the door and motioned Coach Reina that he will excuse himself. Tinanguan lamang siya ni Coach at sinabihan na bumalik din.

"Wait there. I'm coming," tuluyan na siyang nakalabas at naisara niya na ang pinto.

I only sigh. It was Kyla on the phone. So, he invited her here, huh?

Kahit sinabi ko na kay Kyla ang competition, niyaya pa rin pala siya ni Charlie?

I felt a pain in my heart but I chose to ignore it. I should focus on the competition, this is the only thing that matters right now.

The empty seat where Charlie was seated earlier was later on filled by Cedric. Gulat akong napatingin sa kaniya but he only focused his eyesight infront... probably looking at his reflection since there's a big mirror infront of us.

I want to ask why he shifted his seat but I chose not to bother. Hinayaan ko na lang siya dahil baka masikip sa pwesto niya kanina kaya lumipat siya.

And I noticed that Dan is also missing. Before I could even ask where she is, the door suddenly opened, revealing Dan's fragile body.

Kay Cedric kaagad napadako ang tingin niya... at napatingin pa siya sa'kin. Cedric was just silently sitting beside me, I don't know if he noticed Dan's presence or he just chose to ignore her.

Ano na naman ba ang nangyayari sa kanila? I don't think if I will ever understand their relationship, they always keep their relationship lowkey, reason why I can't help but be curious.

Lumabas din muna si Coach para magkaroon ng update sa nangyayari sa labas at para makausap na din ang organizer. We just patiently waited here while Cat was talking to other members. Sila lamang ang nag-iingay sa loob, hindi rin mahahalata na kabado ang mga itsura nila, siguro ay sanay na sila sa mga ganitong competition.

I wonder how long they were in this department? I never asked them that question, some members seem like oldies already.

As minutes pass by, my nervousness is slowly subsiding. I need to encourage my members kahit mukhang hindi na nila kailangan iyon dahil ngiting-ngiti lang sila at mukhang excited na.

The door opened so we all turned to it. Coach peeked inside and grinned widely. "Are you all ready?"

Nagsi-ayos sila ng upo at si Cat na ang sumagot. "Yes, Coach. We're actually excited to perform already!"
